      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

Having a Manhattan in Manhattan.

Happy Saturday!

Damn I was too. Meet some friends at our hotel at Madison and fifty. Damn big bar bill, went to Nick and Stef's for dinner, more Manhattans. The next door for the fight. Wife says I need to dry out a little. Had to use the best advise from my grandfather, if seeing double close one eye

Less then then 20 days to Vernal Equinox, the first day of Spring.

I met a young man in England years ago who had The Jam tattooed on his arm. When I asked him about it he started to cry because they had broken up.

Busy and hectic day yesterday. Got home from working around 4:30 and decided a Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey on the rocks before dinner sounded good had 2 before dinner and 2 after. If you like whiskey and you like sweeter drinks I recommend trying this. Goes down smooth. But be careful. It tastes like a mixed drink when it isn't.

We unloaded the new keg beer cooler at RYC this past Wed., it holds 3 quarter kegs and has 4 taps.

Philadelphia has one of the most diverse radio stations anywhere in the US in WXPN, they have become more sedate over the last several years much to my chagrin. Drexel's free format, non-commercial student run radio station WKDU 91.7 is also excellent but a true crap shoot, you may find 2 hours of Swing Jazz followed by 2 hours of speed metal depending on the student DJ or 4 hours of silence if no one shows up.

It is almost time for the annual dye you dick green and get drunk celebration of St. Patrick.

I'm in Columbus, Georgia with my son this weekend for the National Trumpet Competition.

He was one of 21 in the high school category. Only 3 made it to the final round, but he wasn't one of them.

Not drinking tonight, since tomorrow is only 23 hours long and I have to drive 800 miles tomorrow to get us home. I'll do my drinking when I get there.

Here's his performance:

Well I did buy a bottle and have no problem sharing once the club opens. Have to support the local guys

Nice day on the water, not a lot of wind but enough to keep moving. Warm for this time of year. Very calm and reinvigorating day coming off a couple of weeks of pneumonia. Looking forward to summer...

Raining and chilly today, racing season begins tomorrow here and the forecast looks fairly nice 66° 7 Knots from the North backing West in the afternoon.

I am RC which is run from the Clubhouse so the weather has little effect on me (-:

Sorry just saw this. The young guy was genuinely heartbroken. I was kind of appalled. Told him to get over it, it's only rock and roll. *gasp*

Hey Wreck, whose boat is washed up on shore about half a mile up from club? Saw it today when I was out

That boat was abandoned last October and has been bobbing about since, someone removed the registration numbers, name and HIN and turned it loose.

It has not been considerate enough to sink.

It was fecthed up on the commercial pier at Northern Metals until April when the long Westerly storm blew it onto the beach on the New Jersey side of the river and there it sits until someone decides whom is responsible for the cost of removal, it may be there for years.

Thanks for the info. Just flew back from Vegas I and Mrs. Burndoc were at a med meeting. My 17 yo and a friend took the boat out while I was in the air. It was the first time ne went out without me. Easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission. He did get his boating license last year. I was surprised it took him so long. So be careful on the roads and the river. Youth in sailing

It's senior prom night for our son. His date is a girl he met in San Antonio in January when they were both in the US Army All-American Marching Band. She and her mom flew up here to Pennsylvania from their home in Georgia...needless to say, he's on Cloud Nine...

OK, if we're going to have dinner with Bob, we should probably let him know. I can get to the shack if you can.
