      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

Any 111's considering the race down from Lauderdale? Need crew? Not looking at a race week ride but thought this would be a good race on one of these.

Right now Velocity is not planning on KWRW but we are planning to go to CRW, Annapolis NOOD, A2N, BI/Worlds/NYYC/etc next year. We're waiting to hear on the timing for Worlds so we can line the rest of the series up.

J/111 Worlds- June 17-20- Newport, RI. Host t.b.d. The Worlds are one week after New York YC Regatta and the week before Storm Trysail Club's Block Island Race Week. So, could sail for three straight weeks of J/111 one-design racing!

shouldn't need 8 boats for a od start - especially when KWRW has had od starts for less

6 boats should be plenty or the owners should pressure them to make sure they get a OD start

Agree, I will contact them . It is important that as a Fleet we decide to sail in OD trim, weight and pro allowance .

I contacted 2 of the teams plus our team and we all want the OD trim . I do not have all the other contacts yet .

So far My Sharona Wooton and Spaceman Spiff is in on OD a

The Volvo race only needed 7......

Wicked is on this thread so may chime in. The 111's have all rated different in previous years

And then there were 7. How about one from Europe to make it interesting?

I think some of the UK/French boats are looking into the worlds in Newport.

To try to do both may be tough for an amateur crew :-)

Heard KWRW was strong for 111's.

New boat crew DarkHorse (hull #59) is planning on racing in NYYC and World's in Newport.

Would also like to get a OD start at NOOD's Annapolis if we can get more boats.... Any other 111's interested ?

We have a conflict on the worlds with the skipper's son getting married that week end so it may change our racing schedule. When is Nap noods, it is usually too close to Charleston week .

There's Velocity, Bad Cat, Cour de Leon and a new addition (Dark Horse?) on the Chesapeake.

Velocity would like to race in the NOODs if we can get a class start.

What about Fireball? Thought that boat was based out of Chesapeake/Annapolis as well.

Fireball moved out of the area after the 2013 season, I think it's up in LIS now.

Annapolis NOODs are May 1-3, two weeks after CRW. If you need logistical support to get to Annapolis or for things like lodging or marine services let me know and I can get the ball rolling on getting you help. Same for any 111's interested in coming to the NOODs!

The J/111s saw Pensacola, Florida skipper George Gamble steer MY SHARONA to a wire-to-wire victory. Quantum pro Scott Nixon called tactics on MY SHARONA, which displayed superb boat speed in all conditions in winning five races and placing second or third in four others. After a slow start, the 2014 Key West Race Week winner, Rob Ruhlman’s SPACEMAN SPIFF, closed strongly to take second overall for the regatta. Third was Brad Faber’s UTAH. Early regatta leader, Bob Hesse’s LAKE EFFECT, sailed consistently to take fourth and lying fifth was William Smith’s WOOTON.

Nice reading about the KWRW goings on. Sounds like a great way to start the season. What is everyone's perspective on the Charleston leg..... Have heard there is an +1hour motor to start line... Good event? Glad to hear momentum is building for a 111 start at the Annap NOODs. DarkHorse crew is readying to racing the Annap NOOD, NYYC regatta, and Worlds. Velocity, Bad Cat, Cour de Leon and DarkHorse make 4 in the Bay.

I do not think the 1 hour motoring to race course should be an issue . We have 7 boats on the line , there is still time for others to make the trip

Charleston is a great event, well worth attending. The commute to the offshore race course isn't bad at all although you do get back to the dock (and the party) later than the sport boats.

We would love to see a J/111 class at the NOODs this year in Annapolis. So far two boats are signed up, Velocity (local) and My Sharona is coming up from Florida via Charleston as well. It would be great to see more of the 111's stop in Annapolis on their way up to the Worlds from CRW!

It has been a long season for us and due to work we can not consider Nap town NOODS . I like Annapolis and sailed there few times in couple of Noods and a J 105 NA with 70 boats .

looks like a tough new competitor in the J111 class... based on some of his other racing experience I'd expect him to be fast out of the gate.

That's the last thing the (any?) class needs.
