      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

The vocals on this one are something like Cat Stevens.

Hocus Pocus.... I never knew why yodeling didn't become more popular in Prog Rock.

Taking me back to my adolescence yet again.   While I won't say this version is better than the original, I always liked this:

One night with friends in our youthful debauchery (I guess MJ wasn't "medicinal" back then, nor the 3 foot high water-cooled delivery systems....), we took the Allman Bros "Dreams I'll Never See" LP and sped it up from 33 1/3 to 78.   Sounded pretty darn close to Molly Hatchet's version.

You start watching videos one after the other and sooner or later you find boob sweat!

Starts at 4:20, of course.

Well shit! Now I have to learn how to insert media all over again. Help?

Type out the "media" bookends as shown above with the youtube link in between them (and remove the "s" from https), hit enter and you're done!

On that note, 10CC's 33.3rpm version of "I'm Not In Love" sounds egg-zact-ly like Dolly Parton when played at 45rpm...

This video just gets funnier the longer you watch. They must have had fun making it. I spilled stuff on my keyboard...hope you get a chuckle.

The song is one of Robin Shultz better ones, guitar, nothing too weird.

My condolences Austin.

Lost my FIL this spring...

This ballad is done very well.

"

Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go
Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day you'll make a dream last
But dreams come slow and they go so fast
You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you'll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies
'Cause you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know… "

I have been in love with her voice for a couple of weeks now.

Here is her rendition of "Fast Car'. The song was from an artist many called a one hit wonder and was mocked on SNL.

The song has been remixed or re-vocalized by a few artists now and has become a classic.

If you like her voice, also listen to "Let Her Go" and "You are my Sunshine"

Some awesome music across so many genres in this thread... big thanks !

Lost my Dad ~10 yrs ago after a struggle w/Alzheimers... need to thank him for my love of music (and sailing).   He'd come home from work, grab a glass of whiskey on the rocks and spin up the turntable.    Big Band, Jazz, Classical, Easy Listening, old school Country, etc.... he had a decent LP selection.

Thanks Dad, miss ya !

When your wife nearly cries at your slide solo. Can't see this sort of music gracing the White House under the reign of the Orange Cockhead.

Last night it was 2.5 hours of Billy Joel....he's still got it....big time

Live and loud...

At Lambeau Field.....

predicted storms never happened

Started with Movin' Out, then 40 years of great music, including a Highway to Hell cover, with one of the roadies channeling Bon Scott and Billy Joel in  the role of Angus, that was amazing and ended a 5 song encore with You May Be Right...

They had the joint ROCKIN'.....literally.

Could be best rock show I ever saw.......

and it included Mike DelGuidice, who plays guitar, singing a Puccini aria.....

If you get the opportunity, go.

The setlist

“Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song)”

“Pressure”

“The Entertainer”

“Vienna”

“The Longest Time”

“All For Leyna”

“Zanzibar”

“A Day in the Life” (The Beatles cover)

“New York State of Mind”

“Don’t Ask Me Why”

“And So It Goes”

“Allentown”

“Sometimes a Fantasy”

“My Life”

“She’s Always a Woman”

“Highway to Hell” (AC/DC cover sung by road crew member Chainsaw)

“We Didn’t Start the Fire”

“The River of Dreams” with “Heat Wave” (featuring percussion/sax player Crystal Taliefero on vocals for the latter)

“Nessun Dorma” (Puccini aria sung by guitarist Mike DelGuidice)

“Scenes from an Italian Restaurant”

“Piano Man”

Encore

“Uptown Girl”

“It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me”

“Big Shot”

“Only the Good Die Young”

“You May Be Right”

The interesting career progression of Dan Hartman....Had no idea the guy who wrote/sang "Free Ride" also did "I can Dream About You"

Then goes disco.....  Instant Replay:

Then pop 80s mainstream....  I can dream about you:

Then passes away of AIDS.....

A bar band version of Kim Mitchell's song Rock N' Roll Duty. more Southern Ontario classic rock.

"Don't forget to tip the bartender, he's my dad"

From the same album. Also try "Expedition Sailor', a B side ballad.
