"Hey Ed, that's no man, man!" No? Well, it is our latest SCOTW! Clearly versatile at a number of positions on the boat, she'd be a fine addition to any crew.

And we feel confident that women sailors around the globe will join us in celebrating this week's SCOTW. What's not to like?

Well Ed, who knows.

Like the two blokes at bar.

A: All Brazilians are either Football players or transvestites.

B: Hey listen, my wife is from Brazil!

A: Oh interesting, what club does she play for...

Once upon a time there was a pretence that "Sailor Chick of the Week" was Sailing Anarchy doing its bit for women in sailing. It always was a long bow to draw, but SA stuck at it (even though it utterly ignored some excellent opportunities to promote women in sailing for the sake of posting women for their looks not ability). I guess this post is an admission of giving up all pretence and admits that it was just about old men ogling young women all along.

If SA wants to put a micro–bikini model on the front page, go for it. They're paid to attract attention. If it wants to celebrate women in sailing for their sailing achievements, please do that too (and plenty more of if).

But please get rid of the "SCOTW" bullshit.

Agree on the SCOTW being reserved for women who actually sail, but that shouldn't prohibit the occasional eye candy pics

No sh-t.... ed, if SCOTW is just about soft porn, do it right please..... this chick above (if she was born a female) just looks high maintenance, and somewhere somebody is tired of dealing with her.

Either post some boobies or show us her race record or other contribution to this yachting thing.... or do we have to go to the gawd-forbidden front-page for this info ? (particularly the boobies...)

There's more than a whiff of couldn't-touch-this-so-I'll-diss-it from a lot of the comments. That shit is lame and reeks of butt hurt. She's mildly hot. She's on a nice boat. Shut up and appreciate it.

As for the SCOTW hate... you want social justice shit, go to the rest of the intarwebs. There's an unlimited supply of it there, and while we're at it, jazz hands for you, pal, and quit trying to wreck good things.

Calm down, there was a pic of a real sailing chick in stiletto's trapin' on cat a short time ago and I've seen plenty of women on SA for their sailing abilities. Men love looking at hot women and hot women love showing it off. Goes the other way around also. Nothing's changed except Playboy doesn't show nudes any more.

Maybe I'm getting older but I think the three examples here fall into three distinct categories - and try to filter these through the lens I am (I have a 14 year old daughter and a 10 year old son):

1. The OP is fine - not necessary on this site in my opinion as there are terabytes of far more "inspiring" images available online if needed - but whatever. Don't really care if my son comes here looking for pics of Lending Club or Phaedo3 and stumbles upon it.

2. The photos of the chick bound in the rope (looks to be 3/8" manila) should be removed. They are unnecessary (indisputable), unerotic (your mileage may vary) and I would prefer my son did NOT stumble upon them as I think they would cause confusion and a host of questions that don't need discussing at age 10.

3. The photo of the girl on Jonny's Moth is great. She's cool, empowered and I would love for my daughter to have the confidence to jump off a photo boat and give a foiler a try with confidence and without self-consciousness when she is in college, and SCOTW used to be a showcase for strong women like this.

Just my $0.02 but I personally come here for the sailing discussion...I can find pics of hot chicks anywhere.

oh that's total bullshit. go back and look at say, the last dozen scotw's. how many are legit and how many are just an excuse to look at chicks? exactly. so we like to have a little fun once in awhile. it never ceases to amaze what pussies some of you are.

SCOTW was created by my wife, but maybe we'll start a new one for the eye candy. "Sailor Kandy of the Week"?

Or you whiners could just eat a fucking valium

OK. She's cute enough for a curvy woman. Strong, no doubt. Last many winters, bring many babies & all of that primitive stuff.

Now, what does she race? How'd she get into sailing, and where, on what starter boats? Are there any particular obstacles she had to hurdle other than making it in a misogynistic world amongst sportsmen who might otherwise have little use for her but for what's between her shoulders and between her legs?

SCOTW ought to focus on those achievements. If an accomplished female happens to be pretty, I'm more than fine with noticing that though it ought not be the reason she gets that title; otherwise, it furthers the degradation of women in direct opposition to the recognition that SCOTW status has, heretofore, been seen to give.

And like YahOO, pretty chicks abound on the web. I even post them here from time to time, though I don't claim they're great physicists or master electricians or superior cooks as an excuse to show her in a short skirt. BFD. Start a new title, guys, if you want to recognize "hot" sailor women. Maybe SIMLTGDW*.

* "Sailor I'd Most Like To Get Down With", to appeal toward the women who appreciate a fine man as well as men appreciate a fine lady.

Totally agree. this sport needs all the help it can get in terms of participation. Insulting 50% of the potential sailing universe is not the smartest tactic for a forward-looking sport.
