      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

Crew avalible in Los Angeles

5 posts in this topic

Hi everyone,

I moved to Los Angeles from the east coast about 6 months ago for a new job. The city has got a hold of me and I am here to stay. I'm here to offer my body to a boat in need of a crew. I am a former college sailor with experience in dinghies of all types as well as J24s Etchells and Melges 24s. I would love to get some experience on larger boats.

I am experienced in driving, running fore-deck and traveler. I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty. I am comfortable with fiberglass, gelcoat and splicing work.

I would love to get with competitive amateur crew to sail beer can races with. If the chemistry is good, lets win some regattas! If you have way questions about me or my qualifications, please don't hold back.

All the best,

David Lasky

Would you be willing to drive to San Diego? I bought a J/29 last November and have started racing her. I'm really looking for those who are willing to crew consistently... Right now I'm only doing the CRA races here in SD. One Saturday a month commitment with maybe a few practices thrown in if everyone's schedules work out. Full schedule at Cortezracing.com. I'm pretty laid back, grew up racing in Chicago. Boat was cruised for years so I'm slowly (as the $$$ allow) bringing her back to better racing form. Let me know if you're interested...
