Records relate to what has been recorded and the planet is in a warming phase for the duration of the geological instant covered by the record. It's to be expected that we are going to see new highs records set.

Local boy set World High Jump record in July of 1971.  City government finally agreed to erect a tribute to our "Home Town Hero" 1 1/2 years later. A 7' 6 1/4" pillar was erected in a local park heralding the achievement and the world record in July of 1972. Dwight Stone broke the record 6 days later!

Edit -

https://www.carbonbrief.org/analysis-how-well-have-climate-models-projected-global-warming

Conclusion

Climate models published since 1973 have generally been quite skillful in projecting future warming. While some were too low and some too high, they all show outcomes reasonably close to what has actually occurred, especially when discrepancies between predicted and actual CO2 concentrations and other climate forcings are taken into account.

Models are far from perfect and will continue to be improved over time. They also show a fairly large range of future warming that cannot easily be narrowed using just the changes in climate that we have observed.

Nevertheless, the close match between projected and observed warming since 1970 suggests that estimates of future warming may prove similarly accurate.

The dotted vertical line in the graph is the start point for that generation of models which of course start re-centered to the temperature at the time. Consequently the more recent models are showing more hindcasting than forecasting. The effect is a series of graphs that give the impression that the models have a better forecasting record than they do when much of what they show is not forecasting at all.

This is how the forecasts of early models compare to observations.

The IPCC has acknowledged that their models have historically run hot and have over time reduced their assessment of the warming effect of CO2.

Record-breaking weather kills 33 people in Quebec

Deaths linked to a heat wave in Canada's Quebec province have nearly doubled to 33, health officials say, as extreme weather conditions that have gripped central and eastern Canada reached their peak.

Eighteen of the deaths occurred in Montreal, where the temperature on Thursday was expected to climb to 45 degrees Celsius with humidity.

The city's public health department said most of those who died were men between the ages of 53 and 85 who lived on the upper-floors of apartment buildings without air conditioning.

Montreal previously raised the city's response level to "intervention" from "alert" after a spike in heat-related calls to the government's health information line and for ambulances.

Heat warnings have been in effect across southern Quebec, Ontario and the Atlantic region of the country, but temperatures are expected to drop soon.

The record-breaking heat wave began on June 29.

The previous record high for Quebec seems to be 104/40 in 1921.  113/45 was already hit in Saskatchewan in 1937.

Those 'predictions' seem a bit high though.  The Google forecast shows Low to mid 80s.  Oh. wait, 45 with humidity is the heat index, not the temperature.

"It has been 30 years since the alarm bell was sounded for manmade global warming caused by modern industrial society. And predictions made on that day—and ever since—continue to be falsified in the real world.

The predictions made by climate scientist James Hansen and Michael Oppenheimer back in 1988—and reported as model projected by journalist Philip Shabecoff—constitute yet another exaggerated Malthusian scare, joining those of the population bomb (Paul Ehrlich), resource exhaustion (Club of Rome), Peak Oil (M. King Hubbert), and global cooling (John Holdren).

Erroneous Predictive Scares

Consider the opening global warming salvo (quoted above). Dire predictions of global warming and sea-level rise are well on their way to being falsified—and by a lot, not a little. Meanwhile, a CO2-led global greening has occurred, and climate-related deaths have plummeted as industrialization and prosperity have overcome statism in many areas of the world"....

a high of 99 degrees tomorrow where I live (Pacific NW). the massive increase of average summer high temps over the past decade has been surprisingly blatant. fairly menacing shit, imo.

also, honey bees and bats here have become creatures from a fairy tale. fkn' automobile plague is alive and well, 'tho.

It is not gamesmanship. The CAGW/CAGCC theories have too many holes to be treated as anything but political posturing.

Actually, the whole anti-global warming "movement" is a paid-for front to rope in a few more fascist pinheads.

Libby-rulls "believe" in global warming (many of us "believe in" gravity too), therefor you (and your fellow lib-haters) WON'T believe in it.

it's playing with fire and it also happens to be a moral issue, you apparently don't even have the common decency to err on the side of caution here. I'm not intending this to be a personal attack, but frankly, fuck you righty assholes. most of your sht shows are straight up absurdities, especially the ones concerning 'the environment',  and for what?

this is a thread about important things, 'warbird'.

my post more or less accurately summarized you as the simple, petty asshole you seem to be, this list of petty, simple bs goes a long way to confirming that. you irrational righty shitbags are always telling people who don't wave the flag to move somewhere else, maybe you should get the fuck off the planet since it's only an afterthought to your disrespectful monkey ass. see how that works?

Lefty here. I'm ok with abortion, sodomy and religious rights although churches  should pay business taxes like anyone else. The only time I ever even think about beastiality is when some right wing nutjob brings it up.

Now about pedophilia. Y'all got Denis Hastert, Jim Jordan, Jerry Sandusky, the Duggars, ... to answer for. That and fuck the Catholic Church but not in an anti-1A way.

The word was clearly used but it was applied to liberals not any specific person. I'm a liberal in the sense of being liberal minded but to be clear, I am not attracted feet or shoes.

A plague of Polar Bears in Canada, record cold in the south, and now I'm going to have to go out and shovel more of that increasingly rare snow. Some climate catastrophe we have going here.
