Big pinch to make the mark for ETNZ, slow gaining speed.

No. Not that time. They're sailing well, bugger it.

Burling didn't cover and blew it.  Bring back Barker, LOL.

Won't there be three races tomorrow if needed to decide a winner?

Kiwi fans shouldn't worry too much yet - Emirates lost the start, didn't sail a perfect race, had a unfavorable wind shift or two and only lost by 10.

In 2013, Barker won the starts, rounded marks 1 first, covered every move and lost upwind everytime after the break.

In hindsight that dial down wasn't the best move, we almost slowed down to dial down which allowed OR to get close enough for the final gate!

So Oracle need a faultless race and a wind shift to be able to win by 9 secs

So, exactly what NZ need to win now.

The chaps on the Kiwi boat look pretty relaxed and cheerful. Burling even happy that Oracle sails better. Cool team

Two tomorrow. Two the day after. Three the next day. There's no rule about putting extra races in if we're close to the end.

Kiwis really need to hit OR on those upwinds. They seem happy to split too often. Boats are going so fast that leverage gets huge very fast. They have superior hydro and maneuvering so i'm surprised they don't match tack more often.

Also, would have been wise to tack higher up towards the Port lay-line so the dial down didn't leave them having to sail high and slow to get to the top mark.

First proper AC race.

OR sailed 5x as much as NZ during the week? Fuck if that doesn't sound like the kiwis are choking.

Too much of a dial down and should have covered once they established the 100m lead.

And did they need to duck at the top gate? Looked like they could have tacked for the protection of the circle?

Oh well heads up - and congrats to OTUSA

As long as we win one race per day for the next 3 days we'll be right. Oracle need to win pretty much every race from now on. If you look at it, we've had 6 races and we have 7 races left. Oracle need 6 of those to win the cup. If they drop one more race, it puts huge pressure on Oracle to then sweep the Kiwi's. I just can't see that happening.

Good day.   If you told me etnz would win 5/6 races in the match.  I would be stoked. Still am.  Nothing really to be worried about.  Etnz had constant opportunities then when oracle sailed their best.  We will get there
