      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

Robby Gordon super trucks

Recommended Posts

He should not have done that in an unsafe environment. He is supposed to be a professional and an ambassador to his sport. A ban from racing down under is harsh but maybe he can appeal and pay some fines and do a couple PSA's.

Moron. He should be banned from driving anything more powerful than a vibrator.

Bit harsh for a couple of circles, tight britches down under? WTF? No traffic, controlled area, yeah I get it that it was juvenile, but pretty harsh. Makes it sound like he drove it onto a school yard with kids playing.

I remember when Ozzies celebrated nutso ballsy behaviour.

When did they turn into PC pussies?

The 90's?

You live in BC.  Last time I was in Hongcouver I was fined for smoking a cigar on a sidewalk.  Infront of a head shop billowing clouds of smoke everytime somebody opened the door.  Across the street from a crack whore dragging guys into an alley.  You're not exactly one to talk.  It's a Commonwealth thing.

...but to answer your question, around the time Oz movies switched from Mad Max to Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

None of my motor racing mates have spoken up in his defence.  Public street, not controlled AFAIK.  Guy asks a private security bloke if it's OK WTF?.  Of course the cops charged him - there'd be outrage if they didn't.  The judge is a mate of mine - very sensible chap, keen sailor and not a killjoy.

Gordon came across as a seppo blowhard,  looks like that's what the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport thought too, it was them that pulled his licence to race in Australia, not any government.  I'd say that's peer judgment.

The article doesn't say if he was charged at the scene or if some wanker killjoy fuckstick cop saw a Facebook video and hunted him down?

Charged on the spot is my impression.  The guy isn't very smart - the city police station and watch house is about 50 metres away from where he put on his show ... he's lucky they gave him bail. US cops would have shot him mid-donut!

The nanny state called Australia doesn't allow burnouts, the pussification of Australia continues.

The Ford Mustang sold in Australia doesn't have the burnout mode that is found in new Mustangs sold everywhere else in the world.

See mine is different, same night maybe but hours apart.  Hell Toronto made Sean Penn pay a fine because a city councillor saw him smoking during a movie festival on the evening news.  She was a killjoy fuckstick too.

FFS it's not as if he was driving around, the truck was on display and he did two doughnuts for a late night, no doubt hotting sozzled, bar crowd.  Oz is toast, stick a fork in it and put it on the barbie.

FFS Robbie STARTED the Super truck series, he OWNS it.

Say what you will about Robbie's douchebag hissy fit moments, the guy was a talented driver that could jump into everything and be competitive, and has morphed into a pretty savvy businessman when it comes to racing.

Do you know this street?  I drive it every day.  Mitchell Street is quite narrow - the only way to turn without  a 3 pointer would be to drift it.  600hp, several ton truck, crowds around, plenty of drunks.  Sorry, but if you think this is admirable, you're as much a fucking idiot as Gordon.  As I said, my mates who are into motor racing (one has a race car, another an ex Rossi bike) don't stand up for him - why are you?

So ban Robbie from driving on the streets in AUS. Why ban him from racing? It's perfectly legal to do donuts there.

*note: the street thing was fucking stupid.

Because I love going to race weekends, where streets, y'know, are not the same as normal middle of the week rush hour.  I'll wager the copper that charged Robbie has been in more traffic accidents than he has.

It's called common sense, which apparently, unfortunately, has been supplanted in every Commonwealth country with knee jerk pussification.  You even had the killjoy fucktard judge talking about jailtime (and he really is a fucktard killjoy).

I never claimed that Vancouver was anything other than pussified Yuppy PC. Greenpeace was invented here 1/2 century ago ferfuckssakes.

I expected better from Oz.

You call it commonsense - I call it redneck hillbilly fucktardness.  You can keep the fuckwit.

(I have no objection to him racing on a track, or doing burnouts at a race meeting - NOT on public streets)

I don't know you well enough, but all you need to do is one run down the usual suspect Caribbean islands, and you can tell immediately which island was colonized by the French or the English.  Here's a hint,  guess which islands need to press palms BEFORE the paperwork before they sell out.  Hell I remember when the front page story of the Vancouver paper was hunting the interior designer was poisoning trees that were ruining her view of Stanley Park (possibly the most Vancouver newstory ever).

All you have to do is date a woman from Oz in the last 5yrs.  instead of cutting their ears off now, Oz men are born emasculated.

That's why you live in an emasculated, knee jerk, country that not only has less international pull than Belgium, but really should be avoided by "out of towners" at all costs.  When your only international recognition comes from ridicolous stories about Robby Gordon, or euthanizing Johnny Depp's lapdogs...that's a hint it's time for some introspection.

Anywho I'm out.  Enjoy your bubble, y'know before you do something where they come for you.  Wait until windfarms become a "thing" in Oz, thing you get hit with a windfarm tax because you sailed within 10km of them, thus depriving them of wind, you wind poacher!  Or kitchen knives are mandated to only be sold without a point.

tony stewart killed a guy by doing a 20 foot burnout on a dirt track misjudging what his vehicle would do, didnt matter how good he was at the moment he fucked up

Gordon broke the law in a public way after having his circus welcomed with open arms in a host country. He fucked up, hes paying for it. Quit defending him. No one likes him, hes a dick.

No, uploaded to social media and then viewed by the cops. Busted the next day

Edit: Later the same day.

Oh well, in their airconditioned cocoon, the cops may not have been able to hear the screeching of tyres, or smell the smoke, from 50 metres away around the corner!

Fuck, I thought they were supposed to have a permanent presence in Mitchell Street - someone gets the shit beaten out of them almost every night there!

Dilligaff - sensitive much?  Try getting outside more often.

He's been known to "test" his trucks on the streets of the business park where he builds them here in Charlotte, NC. And by testing I mean building jumps and the like...

Oh just for shits'n'giggles I scratched'n'sniffed the justice involved.  A coupla months before he sentenced Robby, he sentenced a drunken douchebag on the same street.  This guy started windvaning at cops, the cops saw him coming, no damage done, $300 fine.  For throwing punches at LEO's.

He was aboriginal, so special circumstances were observed.

BTW - Paul Hogan, Crocodile Dundee, was exonerated of any tax malfeceance.  After a decade, he no longer lives in Australia.  It's almost as if the people that can afford to leave have already left.  Sounds familiar.

About the only way to do a burnout in a Ford Pusstang is to set the tires on fire.

Not disbelieving you, but can you provide a link for this?  It's just that Local Court matters aren't put up on the net like Supreme Court decisions.  Also, the judge concerned is a relieving Judge and has only been acting in that role for a couple of months, after being retired for some years.  BTW, his last name is misspelled in the article linked in the OP, so you've done well to track him down.  I'll let him know he's got a stalker, he'll be chuffed.

Anyway, drunken aboriginals throwing punches are an everyday occurrence for NT Cops.  Blowhard idiots doing burnouts in trucks in city streets is a little more unusual, even for the Territory.  You will note that Gordon was charged with driving in a dangerous manner, and pleaded guilty to that charge.  A lesser charge of driving in a manner that causes loss of traction (burnouts) was available, but obviously the cops didn't think that reflected the seriousness of the conduct.  And Gordon AGREED by pleading guilty.

Robby was charged with both.

Ofcourse you've touched on what really sank Robby,  a drunk Aboriginal well that's a case for bleeding Leftish social justice.  Robby was really just guilty of the most damning thing you could be in an Oz courtroom, a moderately well known AMERICAN!  Next thing you know there will be a front page national story of a lap dog being "smuggled" into the country on a private jet.....

The story is behind a paywall now (yay, keep being awesome Oz!), William Namana (could be vaguely Aboriginal?) 23 of Howard Springs taking a couple of swings at a TRG copper (whatever a TRG cop is) on Mitchell St.  Took a minute to find the typo in his name, another to find his sentencing history this year, Robby wasn't his first "hooning" ridiculous sentencing.

Who the fuck do these tinpot countries think they are?  Telling me what I can and can't do.  I'm an AMERICAN Goddam it, and that gives me the right to do whatever I like, anywhere in the world.  Merica, Fuck Yeah!

You think it's strange that an Australian judge takes umbrage?

Anyway, I'm out.  We'll just have to agree to disagree.
