Geez, it's almost like getting picures from a Mars orbiter after decades of fuzzy photos.  Amazing level of detail in the deep Gulf of Mexico.  Linking a "river" some 3000 meters below the surface at the edge of the Florida Escarpment to its ancestral river in Mississippi makes me wonder how many years ago it was on the surface.

And the pics of all the explosive clathrate release craters give one pause.

Anyway, yes, I'm a bit of a geek.  I doubt there will be even sympathy posts to this thread but I think it's so cool.

I wonder if that's a landmark or a trail that manatee use..... It looks a lot like the Suwanee river between here and the Gulf, and if I'm not mistaken, that image is from right off the coast here.

Racing distance races in the Islands here, that sort of stuff is gold. My distance race notes are full of bits on bottom contour for taking advantage of tides and knowing where to anchor out of them. Good stuff

Unreal detail considering they are mapping an area 3,000+ meters deep.  I'd really like to see some of the nearshore (within 200 miles) for use in offshore fishing.
