The Italians are getting ready.

There is a skeg, quite rounded, and a black cradle... Sneaky bastards.

I may have just locked eyes with @mikenz2 as well...

So not much obvious difference between their B1 and B2. Probably more what’s under the hood. So two teams got it right. The other two look as though they definitely changed direction after their first boats.

Man, for a team that has had...issues.. with bowsprits, they sure repeated the thin round prestressed tube with a low leverage mounting point thing.  Maybe it's a solid bar or something, but that looks like they're expecting some pretty light loads.  Although the bobstay actually looks sized up if I'm not mistaken.

Seems to me that Max (being COR) would be more informed than anyone on this board

I wonder what the coarse surface vs shiny is all about?

It’s the bow hull that broke off, not the bowsprit/attachment point. That said, I wish it was sturdier for my peace of mind

Maybe it's removable like ETNZ did with theirs a while back.  No need to have it out there on windy days - just more windage since you won't be using the Code Zero.

I thought it was required by class rules. So when racing, has to be there.

Matt or sanded surfaces  have less surface tension.
F1 cars are doing this as well

I would guess maybe boundary layer paint concept as Red Bull used in F1,  Speedo also used that idea in their fastskin swimwear that was later outlawed. Note I've not gone thru the rules to see if this not allowed.

Mid bowsprit, Height off water sensor? you can see a lead run into the boat under the sprit hull connection.

Trenches that don’t go all the way to the stern as B1 did and as Patriots still do. Maybe the crew will be swapping sides on B2. Rounded keel closer to Te Aihes Bustle. No bulbs on the foils.

Bowsprit just passed its first test - it was a powerful hit, there was no chance of that bottle not breaking!

How much of the permissible 12.5% modifiables would cover any major surgery if ETNZ come out with a radical shape in Te Aihe II?

My understanding of the Protocol and Class Rule is that any repairs done to bring the hull back to where it was pre-damage is not considered in the 12.5%.  You could make a big difference with 12.5% to the underneath of the boats.

A diplomatic Jimmy Spithill has talked up Team New Zealand, making the defenders a clear favourite to win the America’s Cup.

Australian Spithill, now the Italian syndicate Luna Rossa, fronted the media at the launch of their second boat in Auckland on Tuesday.
