      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

American YC Fall Series and Leukemia Cup

13 posts in this topic

NOR has been posted on Yachtscoring for the American Yacht Club Fall Series & Leukemia Cup. Some things to take note of with respect to the Leukemia Cup:

1.       A case of Gosling’s Rum will be awarded to the one-design class raising the most money for the Leukemia Cup.

2.       Boats racing on the Navigator’s Course on September 23rd can improve their time allowance by 1 sec/mile for every $100 raised

3.       Discounts on North Sails for certain fundraising thresholds

4.       Fun dinner/auction (casual) the night of the 23rd with free Dark ‘n Stormies, wine and beer. Music by The Chad Hollister Band. Free ticket for those raising over $500.

Hope you can join us and help support a good cause. More info at www.leukemiacup.org

(See website and NOR for details and conditions on the above)

2017 American Yacht Club Fall Regatta & Leukemia Cup American Yacht Club Rye, NY, USA September 23, 24 // Sep 30 & Oct 01, 2017

97 on the Entry List so far (including boats only participating in the Leukemia Cup)

Good numbers in some of the OD classes, a little light in IRC.

For those of you who skipped out on the Leukemia Cup party last year, I would encourage you all to participate this year.  Great party and an easy way to give to a great cause.

Real News: Our Leukemia Cup Party is sold out!

But you can still check out and bid on auction items online: https://llsct2017.auction-bid.org/microsite/

We have some great stuff. Also not too late to sail the Navigators Course or do the SUP event. And remember, the top fundraising OD Class wins a case of Goslings!

The Auction items include a week at Ocean Reef. Think that might need to come with a caveat. IIRC Key Largo got hit hard.

Ocean Reef will be fine by the the time someone wants to use the property. No major damage.

Agree. Who in their right mind would thank KK for abusing them?

Looks like a dying northerly tomorrow afternoon.
Is this just a rumor?

NOR Addendum No. 2: 'Boats being pulled off of sandbars by outside mechanical means, Towboat/US, or CIPF  (City Island Porgy Fisherman) will be scored DNF.  This does not change any rules in RRS  2017 -2020'.
