      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

Looking more and more like the Russian Cullusuon was a strawman to go after Trump, in the effort to impeach. The FBI insurance policy to get him out of office

Nothing being leaked about the raid on his personal lawyers office talks about Russia.  It’s all about potential campaign finance violations and bank fraud.   They even leaked about a doorman hiding a love child.

Trump may be guilty as hell of lots of shit, but so far nothing has tied him to Russian cullusuon to influence the election

So what 'lots of shit' things that he maybe guilty of, are acceptable in your president?

But they didn't impeach him for a blowjob, they impeached him for lying under oath. Just like Trump won't be impeached for fucking a porn actress, he'd be impeached for associated coverup crimes (and others). I guess you should add a history book to your civics book Amazon order.

How many GOP types remain in office until the end of the year, like our illustrious Paulie R, who are no longer beholden to the machine, or voters. They are free to vote their newly rediscovered conscience, and may well suddenly realize they detest Trump and what he has done to our cuntry.

These RINOs might form the basis of a successful impeachment vote if Mueller’s investigational time course so permits.

It would be interesting see if these Republican retirees sacrifice themselves to save the GOP from their base. The Party itself doesn't seem to care that they rip into Trump, but free from a "retaliation vote", the GOP can wash their hands of the actions needed to keep some kind of credibility.

Nope.  And, I don't think that is what anyone has said, or what RKoch meant.  There just aren't that many of them.

But, I will say that the vast majority of Nazis, skinheads, white supremacists, etc. voted for President Trump.

Anything happens to their guy, there could be trouble.  You know, that "water the Tree of Liberty" stuff?

President Trump has shared that, if things don't go his way, violence is a real possibility.  Don't think for a moment that fell on deaf ears.

Here you go again you lying piece of shit. I’d ask you to provide proof , but like the cowardly puppy you have proved to be you can’t.

I never engaged in any impeachment talk about Obama.  Because he never did anything that came even close to impeachment.

At this point in time the same applies to Trump.  If it comes out that he committed a high crime impeach his ass, but at this point you have nothing.

Speculation, guessing, wishful thinking, leaks and fake news is what is driving the impeachment talk not facts.

True, that.  But, even you have to admit that it isn't looking good for President Trump to escape from this without some legal repercussions.

Even he knows that.  Hence the hysterical Tweet storms.

Many are taking the position that no charges have been filed, so there is no "there" there.  They ignore the fact that the investigation is ongoing and we only know a smidgen of what has been found.

This is a marathon, not a sprint.

For the first several months of this mess of a presidency, I was of a mind that Trump’s incompetence was probably better than the evil (in my mind) and certainly more competent VP Pence. Now, what with the obvious damage Trump is doing to my country, and the viscous division of our people, I think I’d rather take my chances with Pence. Impeachment? Bring it on when the time comes, and it will. A devils choice.

People keep forgetting that impeachment is NOT a criminal trial. There do NOT have to be high crimes.

Maladministration, which is embodied by this administration’s approach to truth, Security Clearance issues & and personnel mismanagement, is specifically mentioned as justification for impeachment.

We managed to survive 8 years of Bush and his idiots. Granted, we're still paying for it...literally and figuratively.  Trump, Bush, and Republican leadership do provide an example of why govt-hating conservatives shouldn't be put in charge of it.  It's like hiring an Amish auto mechanic.  We're just slow learners. Compounded with the dilemma that the Democrats are unwilling to be a viable alternative, lest they lose their Wall St gravy train. DNC is desperately trying to silence Bernie Saunders...that's why Wall St pays them. Democratic candidates will try to sound like Sanders, but in essence their platform is vote for us, we're not quite as bad as Republicans. Might work this time, but the country deserves better.

Started to upvote this, but decided you were being unfair to the Amish.   They are very hard working, industrious and creative uneducated pacifists generally.    The result might resemble a Cuban car, a Mazda body with a lawn tractor engine geared to a go cart transmission with motorcycle brakes running on steel rims.   It may not be safe.   It will run.

except that's not how it really works:

In 1970, then-House Minority Leader Gerald R. Ford defined the criterion as he saw it: "An impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history."[30]

We all know it is a political decision,  I have no doubt there are many that will want to impeach him if, as expected the Dems take the house, It will do nothing but tear the country further apart because without a actual crime reaching high levels he will never be convicted in the Senate.  So you can impeach him but he will still serve out his term and be eligible to run in 2020.

Cuban cars are, btw, nothing like that.   The 1950's classics are kept running with locally machined remakes of original parts...you can see guys working away on them in small machine shops throughout Havana...and are in very, very good condition.  They know they have collectively have a unique and valuable collection and display their cars with pride.  But most of the cars are new or newish Volvos and Mercedes.  Along with a mix of really cute cue-ball shaped little taxicabs.

Amazing place Cuba.  And just as hard-working as the Amish.

True, Amish are hardworking, honest, thrifty, and many good qualities that conservatives lack. It was unfair of me to equate them with republicans, even in an attempted injection of humor. But I do stick by my point that it's rather stupid to put someone in charge of fixing something who hates it, and has a vested agenda in making sure it works poorly.

I stand corrected.   I understood they were being repowered.      Agree on the bogus travel ban.  Almost like a Republican copying North Korea with the stance that Cuba is too tempting and we must be protected from the influence of a poor communists dictatorship, just because they seized assets of rich Americans a few generations ago.

Because of the subject of my comment about Cuba.  Those particular idiots have been the cause of the continued Cuban economic and cultural blockade.  The rest of them are also idiots, but largely on different issues.  IMHO.

If you get the opportunity, go to Cuba.  Amazing place.

Historic moment in Florida this weekend. Trump is spending the weekend in Palm Beach, naturally. Stormy Daniels is booked to perform two nights at the Ultra Lounge Strip Club, across the street from the Trump International Golf Club. It is believed this is the first time a president has visited a city at the same time as his hooker. Epic and bigly event. Everybody says so.

FFS, you're smarter than that.

Nobody says that Trump is the mastermind of anything. He's a useful idiot put there by others - possibly including Putin. Mueller was appointed in May 2017, so only 11 months. The investigation has turned up many pieces of evidence - several plea bargains, several charges and numerous inditements.

Please try again, only with less bullshit next time.

In case anybody was wondering -

https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/13/politics/michael-cohen-hearing-fbi-raid/

Excerpt -

(CNN)Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's personal attorney, is "under criminal investigation," the Justice Department said Friday.

In response to Cohen's motion to restrain the evidence collected in Monday's raids of his home and office, the US attorney in New York asserted the raids were authorized by a federal judge to seek evidence of conduct "for which Cohen is under criminal investigation."
The filing redacts what Cohen is under investigation for.

Cohen worries Trump more than Mueller. He might be unhinged enough to bomb all of New York State. Since Mueller and the Feds are continually one step ahead of Trump, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if they were referring  some matters  uncovered in SDNY and EDNY investigations to NY AG office, where Trump can't obstruct justice by firing or pardoning.

Mueller has evidence placing Cohen in Prague in summer of 2016, at the same time the Steele Dossier claims he met with Kremlin officials in Prague.

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/white-house/article208870264.html

Also, apparently SDNY investigators have been reading Cohen's email accounts for several months now. Also, reported they've seized material from several safety deposit boxes.

This is not going to end well for certain people.

Isn't that what the Steele Dossier claimed? It also pretty much puts to bed the "There is no collusion" meme.

Not this shit again

and this

so either Cohen is a super secret agent that can sneak in and out of countries without his passport or the media is repeating a story from last year.

I will say if this turns out that be true Trump will be gone within days of the truth coming out.

Whoever won was going to face endless investigation and impeachment. Probably the best way to correct a fucked up election featuring the two worst candidates. Maybe our system is working as intended...

It's most definitely not working as intended. The process for selecting candidates and electing them was intended to be isolated from the perils of populism. The only seats allowed for that shit were in the (Animal) House Of Representatives.

The front page of a passport? Really?

How many pages does a passport have?

Nope they looked at all the pages.  Try reading the articles

So BuzzFeed News asked to see the inside pages. He said yes. We have pictures.

The passport shows Cohen has traveled the globe since 2009, the year the document was issued. There is no stamp showing Cohen visited the Czech Republic.

“Nope. Never been,” he said in an interview on Tuesday. The Wall Street Journal reported in January that he had visited Prague once before, in 2001.

If Mueller says he has evidence of Cohen being in Prague in 2016, I'd have to surmise it's probably ironclad.  Cohen may think he's covered his tracks and can lie, but he's not as smart as he thinks he is.

Really? This shit again? I wonder how someone could go to the Czech Republic and not get a stamp? Maybe fly from Germany like I did?

But there is no entry stamp into the Schengen region anywhere around the time he was allegedly there.

Hey I agree if it can be proved he was there Trump is gone.

Do they still stamp your passport if you drive from country to country in the EU?

No, but you still get a stamp at your arrival in the EU.  Nothing in his passport shows a trip in August September.   And yes he could have a second passport.   He denies that too.

This was a huge story last year every media outlet was trying to verify.  They came up empty. From the above link:

“Many news organizations attempted to verify or debunk claims in the dossier, including that Cohen was in Prague around that time. A BuzzFeed News reporter spent three days visiting about 45 hotels in the city and found no evidence Cohen had stayed in any of them during that period.

Are US citizens able to have 2 current copies of their passport?

Legally no, not 2 current ones issued by US. Dual citizens probably have one from each country. Entirely possible Cohen could have a second passport that's stolen or forged. I suspect Mueller has more evidence than just a passport stamp. Possibly ph records, CC purchases, emails concerning travel plans, etc.

I think Mueller has better investigative resources than a Buzzfeed reporter. But go ahead and cling to that.

I reckon Mueller’s team is adept at digging. Subpoena power is mightier than the pen, especially with cooperative witnesses telling them where to look.

Not clinging to anything.  I’ve clearly stated that if true Trump is toast.
