Hello,

Sorry to probably be asking a question that has been asked hundreds of time, i've followed tho forum for ages now but just became a member.

I am seeking input on an offshore singlehanded racer, I would love a Figaro II but they are out of my budget and cant find one here in the USA. I am looking for a boat that flies an asymmetrical kite, hard chines, open transom and is under $50k. I know this probably doesn't exist in my price range but I am throwing it out to the wolves to go after.

If you have any suggestions please let me know, I know I have left out a lot in this post, but due to there probably being 100+ posts on this I didn't want to waste time.

Try a G32 Catamaran, if you have an open mind. She wins, and won't break your budget.  Of all the fast single handers I have sailed she is the fastest and least demanding.

Moore can be tough enough with two on board! Lots of fun, great boat.

Check NFun30 - can be made in many configuration and ~$45K. I am not sure how offshore she would go.

Olson 30!

Add an asym on a sprit and watch the speedo climb

$10K price tag leaves you $40k for new sails

Yes, that is true especially considering this is your very first post.

Quest 30 or 33s. Couple on yachtworld I would suspect will actually sell nearer your target amount.

A FarEast 28 with modified bulb (heavier than standard) would probably work well solo and just get under that budget limit of yours. I am sailing a FarEast 31 solo in- and offshore and very happy with the boat (after some downsizing of the main and the A2 that probably would be applicable for the 28 as well...), but you wont find a FE31 under your budget limit. If the 28 becomes too expensive the 23 could probably also do the job...
