      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

KWRW RIP- Caribbean Circuit Benefits

Recommended Posts

We have a LOT of teams we do gear for that previously had done Key West Race Week year after year.  Many of them are now making the leap to do the Caribbean circuit instead. What is your team doing instead of KWRW for 2018?

It all starts with THIS.

Isn't J boats taking it over?  Fri-Sun event.  Feeder race changing To Tuesday start so boats can do both.   Launch on east coast of Florida instead of Key West.  Thought they would of announced by now so maybe they are going to wait one year so sailors get excited about it again

Excited about what?

Spending 10K+ for 3 days instead of 5?

Justify moving the whole roadshow down there for a long weekend?  That's a lot of buck for very little bang.

Great sailing in Biscayne Bay, when they brought back the SORC in the in the Mid 90's it was fun.

Not a lot of depth for bigger boats

Possible to set up an offshore course for the big boats and is there mooring space with sufficient depth for supermaxis or?

The TP52s have to tip toe in and out of Miami Beach Marina at anything other than high tide. Can't fit anything bigger than that in there, definitely not in Biscayne Bay.

Lauderdale might be a better venue for a big boat regatta actually, much better depth there. Florida is generally too shallow for events with boats that have deep drafts.

Hey, I got a great idea, lets worry about the big boats again.  Isn't catering to the big boats and ignoring the rest of the world part of what got Key West in trouble to begin with?  Besides, J doesn't build TP-52s.  If there gonna sponsor a race week, it will be oriented towards boats that us mere mortals my actually own and take racing...The big boys can come or not...but they don't actually make the regatta successful...lots of average boats make a regatta successful.
