      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

trump thanks mexico

46 posts in this topic

Well actually no he hasn't.  Rex Tillerson has.

But this is a bit odd.

"World in no rush to offer Trump help post-Harvey

After Katrina, countries around the globe offered to help the U.S. After Harvey, only a few — Mexico and troubled Venezuela among them — have volunteered aid."

http://www.politico.com/hurricane-harvey-world-reaction-mexico

I know the USA really doesn't need our steenking money..or Mexico's but..

Apart from Venezuela and Taiwan..no one has as yet offered financial aid.

Now one could say Venezuela and Taiwan have ulterior motives, Mexico helped out bigly in Katrina.

Two explainations have been offered by Politico

The world's pissed off with Trump..OR ..they don't know who to talk to?

"Analysts and former U.S. officials noted that more offers of help could emerge in the days ahead as the full scope of the disaster comes into view. Foreign governments generally tend to distinguish between the American people and the American government, and many would want to help suffering U.S. residents even if they don't like their president.

Moira Whelan, a former State Department official under the Barack Obama administration, said one reason some foreign governments may be holding back is that they don't have many points of contact within the Trump administration.

Most leadership positions at the State Department have yet to be filled, for instance, so some countries may not know who to ask about what they can do.

"The lack of meaningful relationships with individuals in the administration certainly is" an issue, Whelan said. "I think they want to help people but no one is suggesting great ways for them to do that."

Trump..WE HAVE THE BEST,SMALLEST State department:rolleyes:

Regardless

Odds on that he'll be thundering about how no one helps the USA in a day or two

Hurricanes come and go..trumps petulance, maladministration, boorishness are just that gift that keeps on giving.

Mexico is helping Texas and Louisianna while trump flogs his merchandise and insults helpers...it's fare game.

But Huckers can't say where it's coming from.

She said the President hadn't determined which organization to support, but solicited requests from the media for worthy groups.

Cos that's how you make important decisions like that - you go to the media. Can't even make a donation to Harvey victims without it being a crass, transparent, and classless publicity stunt.

Memo to Houston:

Accept no personal checks from anyone in the Trump family or organization.

Cash preferred.  Bank certified funds, if drawn on a US bank, acceptable.

I'll see your million and raise you 10.    https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/31/nfls-j-j-watt-raised-10-million-for-harvey.html   I heard his interview last night going to work.   He tracked down the website owner in the middle of the night when it crashed, so he wouldn't lose steam.   A million dollars isn't bad symbolism for Trump, though his large living has cost us far more already.    https://www.cbssports.com/golf/news/the-amount-of-money-the-secret-service-has-spent-on-golf-carts-might-surprise-you/   We've (taxpayers) spent $60000 on golf carts at trump resorts alone, to protect Trump as he recreates.   A million dollars may just be government rents paid to him.

i'm sure it's much more than a million so far - but the $90K for the carts went to a third party

anyway, relating the two is petty on your part

A sailor helps, other sailors in need.   He may also gripe if the other sailor fails to plan, denies the weather forecast, and keeps getting in trouble.

You're  adding 1/2 of golf cart rental$$ to golf cart purchases and then claiming it's going to a 3rd party?  Where are are you putting the other 1/2?  Who is the 3rd party receiving golf cart rental proceeds?  Why not rent golf carts from the course you're playing on? What are trying to hide by inflating golf cart purchases by 50%?

Spill the beans- you know something, or you're involved. <_<

Did he? The only thing I saw was more examples of how fucked his "charity" foundation is. Kind of like Cheney's statement he was going to donate all his Halliburton profits.

Looking into it further:

https://nonprofitquarterly.org/2016/06/07/trump-donation-to-vets-charity-one-grantees-experience/

Last I heard, Trump was still claiming he's given out over 6 million including at least a million of his own, the most generous accounting I've seen for it is that his foundation has received close to 7 million (much of that may be pledges which been renegged) and given out a bit less than 5.5 million... much of it not actually from the Trump Foundation. I don't fault him for wanting to maximize publicity for the charity he -has- given out, but he should not blow his own horn about making donations that he's not. And looking at the dates, the Trump Foundation only started giving out funds -after- getting a lot of flack about hanging on to donations from others.

Fits the pattern, wouldn't you say?

Dunno. As of this very moment, Trump has donated none. A pledge is not yet a donation - one needs to carry through on their word and pony up the cash. Until then, it's like most of Trump's promises - hot air looking for some publicity.

Dunno. They haven't made a big publicity stunt about it. Either way, even if they've donated nothing - they're on par with Trump.
