Maybe it was Welcome Wagon or kids selling cookies or Jehovah's Witnesses.

On the odd chance nobody posted this before...

Yeah that was posted before I am pretty sure.  I am still surprised by the lack of optics on the carbines.  Many a german or jap soldier has been killed with good old iron sights.  But from the ship, those are not CQB shots.  Even a good red dot or a 4x ACOG would have been really nice for that kind of work.

Also the first screen of the posted link shows a guy with some kind of big long gun - .50 BMG or .338 Lapua - but nothing I saw on the video.  I would not rule out one of those for long range work.  But two things would work against it.  1) Hitting a moving boat from another moving boat would be a tough shot.  Not saying its impossible, but not for the faint of heart.  And 2) unless the ROE allowed zapping them at long range without positive ID or a hostile act, it would be pretty useless once they were close in.  And given the leader called for warning shots first, I doubt the long gun would be allowed.  I would definitely have it out though in case the skinnies tried to pop an RPG from long range.

Personally, I would prefer a mounted Ma Duece on the rail or at a minimum a SAW.  Of course the Dillon Aero is always the crowd pleaser.....

Doesn't look so much like getting owned as getting dead.

At least this leaves more oxygen for the rest of us.

The problem with magnifying optics is you have to use them, pretty much, once they are on. As you say it's a moving platform trying to hit a moving, bigly bouncing target. From their bigly bouncing platform the broad side of a barn is fairly safe until until they get pretty darn close so nearly everything will be close. Until it's quite close it's a fishing boat too.

 Solution = Phalanx/iron sights/red dot and "spray".
