3Di NorDac

Recommended Posts

Posted in CA thought i'd throw it out here.

Anyone used 3Di NorDac yet?

Having raced a bunch of 105s and other boats with white class sails, this seems like it could be a really reasonable sail/material for a more budget conscious racer.  Just curious on people's thoughts/experiences if theyre out there...

Understood.  I'm not in a 1D class with material restrictions.

From years of experience sailing woven dacron i'm just saying this seems like a really nice, inexpensive step forwards for racing sailors on a budget.  Just wondering if anyone had any experience yet.

i also like to see some feedback from 3Di NorDac users. had a quote last year for my boat and main and genoa were 11k ea.  just contacted north again and asked to redo bid with NorDac  half the price.

There are a couple threads going about 3di Nordac, one is on the cruising forum. We picked up a 142% for our Ranger 26 that we are bringing back to life. Only had it since this summer. We are really happy with it. We did a ton over the last winter on the boat and  still have a bunch still to do so we are probably not a perfect comparison.

WHK on here has it on a J105 (i think) and has some good into in this thread :

We have a new 36' racer cruiser coming this winter which will have a J3.5+reef and a furling storm jib/genoa staysail built in 3di nordac, will report back when we use them

i have a 1981 Baltic 37  high aspect mainsail  only 11.5ft boom  120 genoa   i might hedge bet on NorDac and just do mainsail now and ck it out. my genoa was reworked and reduced from a deck sweeper 155 to a 120
