Experienced sailor just moved to San Diego, looking to crew

Recommended Posts

Just moved to San Diego from Florida. Couldn't deal with aborted races due to thunderstorms anymore.

Been sailing for 20yrs, anything with a sail. Sunfish, Hobie 14, Viper, J-24, Merit 25, Baltic 38, Doug Henderson custom 40.

Comfortable in most positions, have worked foredeck on both symmetrical and a-sym rigged boats.

Logged 1200nm last season

- Miami to Nassau

- Ft Lauderdale to Key West

- Miami to Havana

Looking to crew for local races, with an occasional long distance race. I meet my commitments for races, no flaking at the last minute. Would prefer a regular boat that practices to get better.

Check out the Facebook page "Sailors in San Diego- Crew Pool"  When I've traveled to San Diego in the past for work I've posted on there and got a few rides.

If you haven’t found a position yet send me a PM or Reply to this. I have a J/29, going into my second race season with her. Still learning the boat and working on building a consistent crew. Foredeck especially has been tough. Not sure why, I’ve always loved working the “pointy end”. Still do when racing on other boats... We are rigged for both Sym and Asym and haven’t decided yet which is faster yet.

Fair winds...

Chuck
