      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

SA keeps bastard logging me out, the bastards

Recommended Posts

I'm getting logged out of SA and have to log in every time I change platforms or if I have been idle for a while.

I tick the "remember me" box.

I can't find a setting for "keep me logged in for X hours/days/weeks.

Maybe it is one of my Chrome settings that is doing it.

anyone else?

It's probably chrome. I had more problems with chrome than any other system I've used. It used to constantly demand that I change passwords, then deny me the new password because it was too close to the old one. I gave it the heave ho and went to Firefox, and haven't regretted a minute.

You don't have a cookie manager do you? Or maybe have your browsers set to delete cookies when you close them? It's not an uncommon setting.

Because you need to leave the SA cookies, that's what holds your session ID. If you nuke those cookies, you're logged out next time you come back.

IE is doing it too. This logging out thing may be the worst thing that has happened to anyone this week.

I've had a friend in hospital last couple or three weeks. ive been visiting daily as he deteriated and I stuck my head in his room this morning I looked and said to myself he's dead. Then my cell rings and its the nurse calling to tell me that he'd died and I said "yeah, I know. I'm looking at him."

im having to sign in with my phone and ipad

I forgot to use the sarcasm font up there^^^

I havent changed anything BJ and have no cookie managers or browser extensions.

Will reset my Chrome setting to defaults. Weird thing is that it is only SA and happens on android and PC (and Chrome or IE on the PC).

I guess we are the only 3 anarchists who don't constantly switch between a load of different sock puppet accounts and managed to notice the constant logouts.

It's nice that the socks stay on the ignore list even when they change their names though...... Usually.... Unless they start a new account, in which case my ignore list grows fairly quickly.
