      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

Woody, are you mocking Scot for being second to a girl? That boat's been racing for years and they do it rather well. No shame there, first couple of races.

Tho Vertically Challenged, You are Absolutely Correct

SA is about "Inside knowledge" you have it or you Don't get it

You got it

Better was the boat Chicken Winging on FB about taking 2 bullets in "A" class of 2 boats (same race as Scot's)

The Other being Fully Crewed by Disabled Veterans .............. ready? ............... On Veterans Day

tho not posted to his FB page that I wound NOT visit the owner chimed in about them being Kool having a vet aboard too

Not 1 Disabled Veteran mind you, Just a Vet in a race on veteran's Day that made No mention of Veterans Day

You Took the Higher Road, Pointing out the Competence/Skill level of the girl boat = sounding even better for Scot  +1

"That" was the reason for my post "Both" times, the Straight man serving up the chance for someone else to shine

You did that

The other guy just tried to point out that they were even better = swallowed the Bait to look bad (they do that often)  -10

MUCH better would have been to say:

"True they are Disabled Veterans BUT they are Far from Lesser sailors And to beat them is truly an accomplishment"

That would be a Class Act and a Complement to those racing for Challenged America

But No it was a whank whank whank ....... I really am better ........ whank whank whank

nothing ever changes

its not close to right. were you there? of course you werent. we won both starts by at least 5 boatlengths. but were no faster boat for boat in either race, just simply outsailed them and got a lucky shift. we couldnt sail away from them at all in the second.

the 33 is not a fast boat and anyone who sails one or against one knows it. 99 is a joke. orr says thw boat should rate 108 and after three races, that is indisputable.

just fyi - sc33 the mighty muffin, with a rating of 120-something, blasted a rock this weekend hard and was taking on water. all safe and sound, dont know how much damage was done. they retired from racing round the county and are back somewhere tied up ready for repair...

On the radio it sounded like they were taking it to West Sound (which is probably the closest US haulout to Patos Island, which is where they hit the rock).  It was really sad to hear that over the radio, they looked like they were having a good day and that boat has had a lot of love recently.  I hope the repair work is minor.

Back in the day sailing Olson 30's.... before they became cool in the PNW (1990ish) on Ozone we were PHRF 93, Hobie 33 were 96, MHOB J 29 were 102 and SC 33 were 109-ish. Olson and Hobie 33 were generally equal except when Lord Lawrence was about. MHOB J29 could be dangerous in the right conditions with beam to hold down upwind or weight piled forward/ leeward to pick up the ass. SC33 at 109 were seldom a contender... decent pace upwind and they could stick around in light air but not so much downwind.

The SC33 was the only one with standing headroom and was popular for "entertaining". With my life now, and as a family option the SC would win hands down.

This discussion so much reminds me of old PHRF shit storming...it's kind of retro cool.

At least spell the name right!!
