VOR Leg 4 Melbourne to Honkers

Recommended Posts

From the live page...

14 knots, 160-degrees in the start area.

The start has been postponed by 10 minutes, to give MAPFRE, who were the last team to clear the bridge (the teams left in reverse order of finish), adequate time to prepare.

The Live show is on Facebook and volvooceanrace.com now... Start time in about 20 minutes.

???????

The Tasman Lows do not drop in pressure anywhere even near a Cat 1 cyclone. That is just a normal garden variety low. Top of the map totally different box of monkeys. They would be unlucky to have one spin down out of the Coral Sea in the period they are in that postcode.

Just wait until Race Experts bring up Guam's all year round typhoon season.

Fortunately GFS actually performs around Guam. Can't have the USN and USAF getting wrecked.

Considering how narrow the shipping channel is - first in will be first out. MAPFRE might come out of this with a nice lead to start.

Right now, and obviously early days still, but Team Map, are frickin' dialed.

Right. I was watching the overhead shot of the crew. Calm.  Sophie hitching up lines.  Sharp.

In fact, Vestas leading all at the moment. And it looks like Scally and Akzo will need to throw in some tacks to make the mark, but the others are on layline...
