When I drive over Fremont pass going to work there's one station that comes in, from Vail. They always play great music and an occasional gem.

Nice. I think it'd be better without the clap track.

Sometimes I wonder how a songwriter comes up with material when I hear songs like this.

Another Paul Siebel tune. Seems he has a thing for writing sad songs about sending dead social misfits home in a box on a train.

Just found an Operation Ivy CD at the bottom of a box of old assorted junk from 30 years ago, had forgotten how much I liked them then and now

Work still in progress, enjoying amazing artistry. Joe Pass is a phenomenal guitarist, we saw him live a while back.

With all the Russian collusion, thought I'd listen to my comrades cover some Chicago. Pretty tight.

I just bought the EP and first album...pretty damn good.  he is a Saskatchewan boy from Swift Current and the son of Brad Wall the now retired premier of the province.

he has such a deep voice, i always get this picture of him as a 5 year old "mommy, can i have some cornflakes" in that deep voice :D

Had this tune from the Mavericks on my playlists for about a year..... every time it played, I knew I had heard it many years before, just couldn't place it.     Took me a while before I got the gumption to lookup the song writer....

It's 36 deg C (97 F) today, I'm landlocked with a sick boat and going a bit cabin feverish, so time for some tunes.

Pentatonix with their version of Hallelujah. Dunno who these guys are, but this is the best rendition I've ever heard of this song, and it's arcipello to boot.

Hope you like it..

.

Edit: turn it up LOUD, and get your neighbors singing along :).

I have to add this version of Hallelujah as done by an old friend Spencer Bohren.  To hear him sing this in person will bring tears to your eyes.

Better video and mixing

Unfortunately, Spenser is now battling cancer and the support of his fans will hopefully help in his recovery. This event was just a couple nights ago at the famous Tipitina's music club in New Orleans.

Here is a video of Spenser at the Frog Pond at Blue Moon venue out in the Baldwin Co cowpastures where I last heard him play. He put on a great show and then said he would take requests but that no one should dare ask for Hallelujah since he was long since burnt out on that tune. First guy pops up and asks for that very song and Spens just shook his head and then played it! Can't find a video of that but this will give you a taste of how special the Frog Pond is especially for a guy like Bohren.

If you really want to help then go to Spenser's GoTo fund and donate what you can

So that's where that song came from! Some cannuck classmates used to sing that after they'd had a few back around 1976. Too funny!

Been listening to Jackson Browne lately. By the way......if you haven't listened, his two Acoustic Solo Albums are just stellar, especially the first one. I really like this one from that first album............when you reach a certain age....you might understand. "Don't confront me with my failures, I have not forgotten them." Hard to believe he wrote this at age 16.

Since it’s raining, I settled in with a G&T and watched the 1990 Highwaymen concert in Nassau. Excellent.

I was watching "Tootsie" until it started raining hard enough for the satellite to cut out.... It's OK though, I've known how it ends for about 40 years now.....

Not a music video, but a fun 5 minutes with Joe Walsh.... best line:

"One of the most terrifying things that ever happened to me is that Keith Moon decided he liked me."

That explains a lot....

This probably won't get any traction here, but dang what a fun compilation this was for 1981....

The benefit for Spencer Bohren at the Frog Pond last night in Baldwin Co. Alabama was great. Pretty much maxed out the venue and I'm sure the donations and contributions and all will be greatly appreciated. Spencer was in fine form and great spirits and joined the musicians on stage and shared some songs on how he is dealing with his Struggle. Here is Spencer in better days back in the early days of the Frog Pond. He did this song last night and it seemed to have added poiniance.
