      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

Sounded more like a sports car from England. I thought I knew every multihull but I draw a blank on that one. Much less seeing one on a race course. Bloody me, just noticed you are in Australia, this Yank will shut up now. Still am curious though.

Many years back I  read about a Scarb design that used a Hobie 18 rig.

I thought it was a great idea to get a small tri on the water without having to sell the house.

Since then larger Scarab designs have come out but I don't know what they use as a rig.

It would be worth checking that out considering  how much the rig and sails usually cost.

The rig and sails on my F85 was by far the most expensive part of the build.

I have not raced one, only sailed in company with a Scarab. If it was a race I  would not expect the Scarab  to be super fast against my F85 but it also wouldn't cost anything like it either.

If day sailing and cruising I think it would be very good value for the outlay.

there's one in socal that has done a lot of damage in the Santa Barbara King harbor race over the years.  Look like very nice designs.

I owned a 9 metre Kendrick Avalon Design, lovely boat and Ray Kendrick the designer was always happy to help me, even though i wasnt the builder and was the second owner.  I had shitty old sails but she still went well, all things being equal (same sails same talent etc) , probably marginally slower than a C31.  But only marginally.
