Thailand’s Buriram circuit will play host to MotoGP for the first time later this week as the riders will spend three days testing at the track in preparation for its competitive debut in October.

WorldSBK stars have been riding at the track since 2015 but MotoGP has held off until this year. The track is five hours from Bangkok, in the north east of the country. The 4.6km track, built in 2014, has so far only challenged WorldSBK to its five right-and seven left-handers. That means it’s a total reset from Sepang – where Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team) was fastest, putting in the quickest ever laptime around the track – and there’s a new whole new set of records to be established.

The shape of future sports motorcycles has evolved considerably over the last few days as the world's leading sportsbike manufacturers and MotoGP contenders (Suzuki, Honda, Ducati, Yamaha, Aprilia and KTM) evaluated new aerodynamic fairings at the second last test of the MotoGP pre-season at the Chang International Circuit at Buriram, Thailand.
