Much like Ocean Planet, some times things are not what they seem.

I already bought a Fasizi T-shirt..... I'd buy another one if they looked as cool as the originals.... but let it go. We can't save everything, and the boat fulfilled it's original mission in glorious style

I have to ask: please explain the ocean planet comment?

I'll put a plus one on that. What do you have to say about Ocean Planet, Dawg, aka. Dave Trude?

I understood it as a reference to Haji's boat from the 2004 Vendee. I'm curious about what wasn't what it seemed about OP.

I donated.  What's 10 or 20 bucks.  I think it would be great to get her going again.  I have no personal interest or attachment to this boat but it is historical and I think that is kind of cool.  If we discarded everything after it has "served it purpose" we wouldn't have almost any old boats.  Besides, just give it new purpose.    If someone wants to put in the effort, I think its better to reuse or re-purpose instead of just discarding.  Especially plastic.

Ask a starving child, a hurricane victim, a flood victim, a fire victim, ad nauseam.

This is just a fucking boat, an old fucking boat at that.

I love how some guy with not enough money wants people to help pay to save his dream. Go ask Gazprom for the money.

It seems you are making assumptions as to what else I donate to, or what I do or have done in my life to help others comrade.

To be clear, what's 10 or 20 bucks to me...don't bother, it rhetorical.

Really.  Dozens of oligarch billionaires dont give a shit about this piece of crap. Even the crew committed suicide on board.  It's cursed. Save it for what?! Do the honorable thing. Light a match!

One guy committed suicide, not "the crew".  It's a worthy project for someone with deep pockets.  Unique boat with a great story.

I went aboard in 94 or so. In Philadelphia. She drew 14 feet and was in the mud at low tide. REALLY low freeboard. No standing headroom for me!
Cool boat.
