Hey Gouvernail, what were you saying about the markets

Just another day of the bouncing  Gropenfuhrer stock market .

note: I have stocks of my own and customers who spend more on their toys when their stocks are rising.

i don’t like having to report this, but Happy Makarkey Hillary too Jack Asked.

It’s SAD!

Recessions are inevitable but Trump (acting on Putin’s orders?) did everything possible to hasten it. It’s like he is a foreign agent.

1) We live it a globally interconnected economy. Our economy relies in part on cheap consumer goods.  Tariffs and threats of tariffs introduce uncertanty in to capital markets. They destabilized foreign countries economy’s  and act as a tax hike to our citizens. Trump imposed tariffs on allies and foes alike. He’s still looking to tax BMW’s Audi’s and the like by 25%.

2) A basic tenant of Macro Economics is that it’s a bad idea to add stimulus to an economy that is already humming. It is a monumentally stupid idea to add tax cuts in the end stage of a historically long bull market/economy.

3) The aforementioned stimulus causes the Fed to raise rates.  Now you can reasonably argue (and I agree) that rates have been to low for a long time but the fed is doing the right thing by unwinding QE2 (a good idea at the time) and raising rates but rates hike are the harbinger of recession.

4) He surrounds himself with imbeciles, crooks and liars.  Wilbur Ross and Peter Navarro come to mind.

There are many other smaller things he’s done but the are the four main things I can point to.

It is looking more and more like the Gropenfuhrer and his kakistocracy have stalled out the Booming Obama Economy.

It is November and stocks are struggling to remain near January levels.

We are entering a recession. Need to wait for 2 periods of negative GPD to make it official but there is no doubt and trumps insane policies hastened it.  The markets are rolling over and the r word is being mentioned by the astute.  Just wait for the Beige book reports Dec 5 and early next year.  It will get ugly.

Since the market is down over 1000 from it's peak I anticipate that Trump will either resign or be impeached - as he himself said should happen.

When is that likely to happen?

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/20/dow-may-drop-2000-points-more-before-market-selling-done-cnbc-survey.html

The Dow may drop another 2,000 points before the stock market selling is done: CNBC CFO survey

  • The Dow will drop to 23,000 before it ever reaches above 27,000 again, according to just over half of CFOs on the CNBC Global CFO Council in a recent survey.
  • That would represent an 8 percent decline in the Dow from its current level.
  • The trade war with China is the No. 1 concern among CFOs in the fourth quarter.

That would be never.

Look back 100 years - every significant downturn happened during or immediately after a Republican administration.

1929, 1958, 1987, 2008....... coming soon.

It took Gropenfuhrer a little longer than I thought it would to turn around the economy but he sure has been on a roll for the last two weeks.

Pretty much every sane person who owns stocks is now wondering if the market  can survive until January 20, 2021

The market Was at  $25,709.27 when Jack Malarkey Again Too First asked whether I was watching his idol destroy the American Economy.

Gropenfuhrer has destroyed 4% of the market’s value in just 3/4 of a year

Let's face it, Trump's buddies have realized that the gravy train just lost a whole lot of cars, and are bailing as fast as they can.

That is evident by your posts.

Unfortunately I am a never give up sort of guy. Perhaps I am wasting my time but I believe even those who appear to be the very worst people have some good in them.

Maybe someday you will step back, look at how little you accomplish with your immature abrasive nonsensical personal attacks and attempt to participate in the PA discussions.

With the trump economy it’s hard to be long in equities.

thats why I went short UNG with triple leveraged DGAZ.  In at $2.60. If all goes well I will make up most of my October losses.  If it goes to it’s all time high I’ll make 60 times my bet.  What could possibly go wrong?

It worked out pretty well.  I bought $20k @2..53.  Sold after 20-1 reverse split at $67.  Bought back last week at 52 sold yesterday at 58.  All in all up 33%.  This is straight out gambling but after a brief respite January is expected to be cold.  Some are predicting $6 Nat gas (currently around $4.50) with continued below normal storage.  I’ll be buying UGAZ sometime next week.
