Free to a good home- Mirror Dinghy -Port Phillip

Recommended Posts

Sad...But I have to say goodbye to Bouboulina.

Free to a good home. She's an oldie but I fully restored her, the stays and fittings are all stainless steel and she doesn't leak more than an eggcup.

Why are you getting rid of it Meli? Maybe you could give it to one of the clubs and still take it out for a spin every now and again?

It's a dilemma, I love that little boat.

Sadly, to be honest, I like looking at boats more than I like sailing in them.

My daughter likes sailing but not the club and is too busy.

The sailing conditions at Albert park are rarely good for just messing about in a boat..either gusty changeable (with all the tall buildings around)  or dead flat

Lots of reasons.

I'd give her to the club, but I GOT her from Williamstown YC..the clubs here got rid of their Mirrors years ago.

I'd keep her If I had room at home.

Yeah, I've just been reading it. Puzzles me how people think they can buy a boat and take it out cruising open water with just a few months days practice. More dreams than sense.

Good thread that. Have you got to the bit where one child insults another's teddy bear and then they roll around in the sandpit for 3 pages? Sailing Anarchy at its finest. :)

I've got a mid-1970's Mirror kit sat in my garage. At some point I'll get round to building her.
