Looking for racing crew in Rhode Island

Recommended Posts

I have a new (to me) Beneteau First 36.7 I bought last September, upgrading from a Scampi 30. After racing the Scampi for years I wanted to step up to something higher performance and something that's a class boat. The 36.7 needs a bigger crew so I'm recruiting. I'm trying to build a regular crew so I'm not looking for fill in crew. I'm looking for someone who can commit to at least 2/3 of the races and who is available and willing to practice. You don't need to be an experienced racer; I'm willing to have you learn with the rest of us. But I do prefer someone who is willing to learn and work to get better, no matter what level you're at now. No passengers please.

I'm currently planning 10 weekend races this season and two evening series (Tuesday and Wednesday). Most of the day races are short and some are long distance, to Block Island and Cutty Hunk.

Sail fast!

I might be interested in crewing for you. Have skippered and raced J30s many years and trying to get back to sailing. Spent all my summers sailing the Vineyard Sound participating in the Block Island Race Week, Edgartown Race Week, etc. A few questions:

1.) Where is your boat located? I live in MA but work in RI.
2.) How many crew are you looking for?
3.) What days are the races?
4.) What time would practices start on Tues/Wed?

I can be reached directly at bsm2001@yahoo.com

Thanks

Older thread I know but if your still looking for some crew I am available. I am quick, athletic and communicate well.  I have a few races under me and returning to the sport after a 2 years hiatus. I am a newb but able. I can swim and available for practices.  If so hit me up.

Have a good one

Drew
