B&G Vulcan or iRegatta

Recommended Posts

I need an electronic tactician to assist the one with legs

Vulcan appears to be a good choice for someone who is budget conscious, with lay lines, wind graphs etc etc; and it appears that all info can be sent to iPad via wifi

Anyone tried both Vulcan & iRegatta and can share their experience?

I've used Zeus2 and Iregatta. Both work...

Big difference in a larger shared display that somebody is often obscuring, and a handheld/wrist (apple watch) that you have to juggle.

How you get the course/mark info into both while on the water is a big difference, being able to select a course that has pre-defined sequence of waypoints

from a stored list is a positive, but if you are dealing with W/L courses that may not be as much of an advantage.

if you can afford a daylight viewable, marine grade display, then that's a much more sensible primary resource.
