Always been a big Led Zep fan, but hated they never gave proper credit until sued.

Here's my Blues hero playing at 95 years old.... not a typo.... NINETY FIVE.   He had an iron disposition.... in his 70s he drank me under the table when I was in my late 20s.   Incredibly nice guy and sorely missed.

btw , willards is no more , for any who follow the link above and actually read the article <_<

THIS ^^^^ is why you will never hear me say a good word about Page and Plant. The story of Sonny Boy Williamson's family trying to get paid royalties is heartbreaking.

Clapton has always been the opposite, giving credit where credit is due, as have the Stones. I saw Buddy Guy a couple of weeks ago, and he had really nice things to say about Clapton and the Stones.

Thanks for posting the Popa Chubby. Love that guy.

We used to have a keyboard player who had toured with R.L. quite a bit. Oil price tanked, he lost his work, we lost the best keys in town.

That Linden Hudson was a little...... Jarring.

I guess I prefer the more mellow aspects of the blues.

Posted this one before in the other music thread, but good enough for a repeat.... I swear if I was more competent on guitar I would learn Carolyn's interpretation note-for-note.

You'll notice that SRV is using very heavy strings, with a relatively flat fret board, while Albert is using a very arced fret board with medium strings.... Big difference in the delivery of the sound.

Really enjoyed this -- thanks!  I can listen to good slow, melodic blues all night long.

Here's one that was posted in another thread, but I have fallen in love with this song.  The 8-bar blues arrangement is inspirational -- guitar, organ, vibes, pedal steel, bass, drums, and vocals, each playing exactly the right thing at the right time.  Dire Straits -- Fade to Black:

Some more slow eight-bar blues:

A faster version of this is on their "Don't Explain" album, which has some other great tracks.

WOW!

May as well lay some really gravelly voiced Blues down on the Infirmary...

Or even go more comtemporary!

Can't forget Cab Galloway!

And now Otis Taylor brings me back around to Keb Mo! I've seen him live and he should not be missed if you get the chance.
