Best glue for upholstery?

Recommended Posts

So I have to glue new vinyl into my cubby pockets along my v-birth.  The old stuff was foam backed and was held to the rough, unfinished fiberglass (no gel coat) with silicone calking.  Silicone is a good backup plan but, because it needs to be glued to the sides and roof I would like something high tack that won't need to be held in place.  I was thinking possibly contact cement but contact cement has it's own limitations.

Any recommendations for a thick, sticky glue I can use to hold this stuff in place without having to cobble together an awkward support system?

Watch some of the Sailrite videos on headliners to be sure but I'm pretty sure they recommend 3M Super 77 spray adhesive.

Normally I like 3m.  For this though I like Liongrip high temp contact adhesive
