Unfortunately smoke from the fires makes for some pretty interesting sunsets...........

In the Midwest we use thunderstorms.    Of course we have four seasons.    You just have flood season and fire season.

Many folks miss the sunset lighting as it plays on the surroundings....as they stare at the sun itself

I need a better camera. Those are taken with a GoPro. If I had exposer bracketing the shots could be manipulated better.

I like to shoot during the “Golden Hour” at sunrise and sunset.

Don’t forget civil unrest season......often follows winning or losing sporting events.

Is that where they send Easterners after they've owned a boat for a few years?

A couple days ago I chartered a Hunter 28 to help a friend with some ashes.  Later in the day, my family came out for a ride;  this is a a pretty fine sunset but the high tide's the thing; that's the breakwater looking like you could pretty much step over it.  Anacapa beyond.

Indeed.    But I can’t tell what you are cooking on that fire.   A condor?

Nope....the grandbaby stroller is in the background behind the fire. Its just old pallets broken up. Only thing we "cooked" was coffee in an old.....and I mean OLD percolator that has seen more evening and morning beach fires than I could even count. It has been on so many coals its almost totally black. B)

September 2016 on Lake Superior.  Sunrise.  There's some saily bits in the way.

I love the classic striking red/orange sunsets, but there are some real calming beauties that are not red at all or at least not much. I like those very much as well. This is off the back of my boat sitting in her slip.
