The morning shift guys had a call in to their Phila counterparts.  Lots of semi- good natured ribbing.  Philly guys kept referring to Mitch Trubisky as “Mike.” Not to be outdone the Chi guys referred to Foles as “Nate.”

All right. Seahawks found their identity in a season where everyone had written them off. Look out next year. In the meantime.

Go Bears!! I am all in on Chicago!!! (Lord knows they're due) :)

Did anyone else see Bennett get dissed by one of his own guys?? Went for a hand up and the guy pulled his hand away and left him on the ground! Problem child!

One of my favorite Long brother stories is when Chris (playing for the Rams) ran out onto the field and yanked brother Kyle out of a developing on field fight. I think it was 2013 or 14.......

Who held the ball he kicked?

One of those pieces of useless trivia I have rattling around in my head. Learned this by 2nd grade, when we moved from Levittown, PA.

The holder was Joe Scarpati. He opened a restaurant not far from our house named “Joe Scarpati’s Woodbourne Inn”.

Apparently, there was a long-lived rumor it was Billy Kilmer.

After Baltimore/Chargers  Iggles/Bears - I have no fingernails left.    The Ravens need to put some resin on young Jackson's hands, and teach him how to look w/out swiveling his whole head.    Feel bad for Parkley, but, my wife's a Homer so I'm glad for her that the Iggles are still in it.   Hope the Chargers kick the Pats out into the harbor, and that the Iggles stay the heck offa Bourbon St 'til after the game.

Might have been good for you but it was painful to me. The Bears really shot themselves in the foot by dropping Robbie Gould a couple of years ago. Since then the kicking game has been crap. Good luck to you Iggles people while us Bears fans drink ourselves to death.

Two years in and lotta talkin’ heads say: “San Diego” Chargers.   WTF!

Chargers have enough talent on both sides of the ball.   Gus Bradley really threw the book out and went with 7 corners/safeties & Jackson looked way out of sync till the last 8 mins.  Rivers did enough when they needed him.   Patriots no chumps at home so next one should be a cracking good game.

Chargers are kickin’ it on the road.  Anything goes.   The Hoody waits.

When you look at it. Cody scored 9 points, the rest of the team 6.

The Eagles are on at 4:40 PM Sunday, I have a cord of firewood, makings for my grandmother's meatballs and gravy, fresh pasta, and it is supposed to snow.

I hope to be in as good a mood Sunday night as I am, right now.

The Dolphins made Mike Tannenbaum the team president a few years back, after he destroyed the Jets and got canned.  The Jets are just returning the favor.  I think he is actually a good coach, but was caught up in a dysfunctional organization in Miami.

Trivia - Nick Foles and Drew Brees both went to the same high school - Westlake in Austin, Texas. Mahomes from Texas also. The Cowboys lost though they aren't really Texans.  Wade Phillips, DC for Rams from Texas, went to U Houston. And to paraphrase a Princess Bride quote: Never go up against a Brady/Belichick when the playoffs are on the line. Next week going to be pretty interesting.

Yes, the Patriots are still alive and kicking.  Will be a hard task to win in arrowhead stadium, but not impossible.  The only reason the chargers scored over 10 points is because the pats took their foot off the gas and played safe the entire second half.

Broncos Vs. Patriots Game Really Did End At Halftime

By Russ Oates  Jan 15, 2012, 6:00am MST

Let's face it. Saturday's 2012 NFL Playoff game between the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots was over at halftime with the home team firmly in control, 35-7. Granted, one might argue earlier times, but let's look at the graph below:

Wpa_medium

via Advanced NFL Stats

Let's see. Not once did the Broncos ever have a probability at winning this game. At best they had the 50-50 split right at kickoff. And we all know that Tom Brady quickly changed that with the first of his six touchdown passes, this one to Wes Welker.

The game was progressively worse after that, though, as we see above, there was a bit of a move toward the Broncos near the end of the first quarter and at the start of the second. But then we arrive at halftime, where it all bottomed out. It didn't budge at all after that, at least not up toward the Broncos. The only change came when the clock his triple zeroes and the game was officially over.

So, yeah, the game was finished at halftime.

anyone want a quarterback...   Dak must have thrown at least  10 passes behind his receivers on important downs..   he couldn't hit a wide open receiver...   the cowboys would have won if we had a healthy romo..    Aikman  would have shredded that team..

I suspect that Flacco is gonna be looking for someplace new after getting stood up for Jackson in the final playoff game.

Pretty obvious the second Baltimore drafted Jackson - as long as Jackson didn't look like a bust this season.

funny, but until Sunday, Patriot Nation was getting concerned their team sucked this year.

In spite of them winning 2 more games than the Jets and Giants combined.

Held to a higher level I guess.

Between the weather and the caliber of the teams, Sunday's game should be epic.

His teammates were very defensive for him as well, but..........sounds like his going onto the Today Show without letting his coach and/or GM know took him from "we stick together" to......."we're certainly going to need to look at improving that facet of our game"..........ooops.

https://deadspin.com/matt-nagy-was-not-happy-that-cody-parkey-went-on-the-to-1831744491

Quote

Nagy said that Parkey didn’t bring up his forthcoming Today appearance in their exit interview, and he was plainly unhappy with Parkey for doing so, calling it a “We and not a me thing.” He continued, “We always talk as a team, we win as a team and lose as a team. I didn’t necessarily think that was too much of a we thing.”
