J/105 shoal keel. How much slower?

Recommended Posts

I've heard people grumbling about how shoal keel models of this boat were way slower. Does anyone have any idea of what that means in knots terms?

Yes, its slower if you're racing. For your intended use stated over on the main forum, you're not going to notice the speed difference.

A J/105 with a shoal keel is probably harder to sell when you want to buy the next boat.
