Have to wonder what the hell was going through these formerly honorable people's heads when they hitched themselves to Trump's wagon.

Anybody that doesn't need a drool cup knows what a shit-bag Trump has been for years.

Did't they watch him on the campaign?  Weren't they aware of his racist birther shit and other racist shit over the past several decades?

Maybe, just maybe, they weren't all that honorable to begin with.

Wonder if this had anything to do with Kelly’s departure -

https://www-m.cnn.com/2018/12/07/politics/robert-mueller-john-kelly-obstruction-investigation/

Excerpt -

Washington (CNN) — White House chief of staff John Kelly was interviewed by special counsel Robert Mueller's team in recent months, three people with knowledge of the matter told CNN.
Kelly responded to a narrow set of questions from special counsel investigators after White House lawyers initially objected to Mueller's request to do the interview earlier this summer, the sources said. Kelly is widely expected to leave his position in the coming days and is no longer on speaking terms with President Donald Trump, CNN reported earlier Friday.

couple people have speculated it's connected to someone who's been subpoenaed and is fighting the subpoena. there were further arguments in the case - sealed - on Monday. whoever is doing it is, per speculators, well and expensively represented.

Say, if Mueller interviews everyone at the Whitehouse will Trump then replace them?

When do we send the Doctors in a remove the deranged fuckwit before he does any more damage?

I'd guess he's quitting while he still has a head. Everything seems to be coming together.

"Donald Trump has gone on a Twitter broadside as special counsel Robert Mueller prepares to reveal today key details about what two Trump allies told prosecutors regarding the Russia probe."

It has also been revealed that Mr Mueller interviewed White House chief of staff John Kelly in recent months. CNN reported that he was asked about a report in the New York Times that Mr Trump tried to fire then-White House counsel Don McGahn. Mr McGahn has not denied those reports

Why should Kelly quit?  Trump can’t Fire Anybody.  If I were Kelly, and needed the money, I’d hide in a closet somewhere, do nothing, and gather a paycheck until the next administration finds him, and fires him.  Why not?

Poor bastard, but last night was the best nights sleep he’s had in seventeen months.

Are there any “best “ left willing to step up and deal with a Class A Fuckwit?

60,000,000 people voted for Gropenfuhrer. Virtually every one of his faithful would be thrilled to work with god's Chosen one.

Maybe it’s that he doesn’t want to work for a Prez who’s a borderline traitor?

I doubt Kelly need the money but it’s been reported that he won’t resign and is trying to make Trump fire him.

Does he get unemployment if he is fired rather than quits?

Chief of staff isn’t on speaking terms with POTUS.    Uninterrupted golf games.   Plenty of TV and play time.  Afternoon naps.   Trump wins.   The country wins.   Hope this can be maintained.

Don’t forget his new title:

”Unindicted co-conspirator”

Kelly decided to go peacefully before the year ends.    Maybe our unindicted coconspirator will take on this job himself, since he is superior to any mere underling and always knows what lie is the current truth.

It's official.

Quote

Speaking to reporters on the South Lawn of the White House before leaving for the Army-Navy football game in Philadelphia, Trump announced that “John Kelly will be leaving toward the end of the year” adding that the former four-star general is a “great guy.” The president said he would be making a decision on Kelly's replacement in the coming days.

He (Trump) has complained repeatedly that Kelly is not politically savvy.

I can't come up with a suitable disparaging remark.

It's sad how much the goalposts move.

Remember back in jan 17 when Trump was picking his then seemingly appalling "inner circle" Tillerson, Mnuchin,Mattis, Sessions,Acosta, Price. Carson, DeVos, Shulkin, Haley etc

How many are still there and  who's been replaced by worse?..well the real idiots like Carson and DeVos are still there.

And the evil bastards like A Acosta

But Mattis may be for the high jump.

I find it funny how often the Trump administration still castigates the evil Hollywood Elite. Check out Mnuchin's resume...

Nope, no hypocrisy here.

DeVos is still there which is the real tragedy.  Totally clueless and worthless, but she must be loyal.

Not terribly uncommon for Chief of Staff to leave after a couple of years. Not sure anyone should read too much into it until the book comes out!

Except that Kelly was CofS #2 and we are not yet to the 2 year mark. President Bartlet only had two of them in seven years and that was only because the first one died.

And IIRC, only one in the administration fucked a prostitute...by accident.  And didn't pay her off!

And to be serious, I have spent time in conference rooms briefing Generals/Admirals and by and large, they are very much at the top of their game. For Kelly to cowtow to the draft dodging Trump had to be difficult.  I hope he's already writing his book.

She might be dumber and more corrupt than Trump, both of which seem to be key criteria for staying in his good graces.

Apparently Ayers is also leaving at the end of the year.  He is going to head up a pro-Trump super pac focusing on Trump's re-election in 2020.

Will the last person leaving the Administration please turn out the lights.

Good Riddance

Quote

As Kelly heads for the exits, let's take a moment to shove aside the content-free beltway obsession with who holds the cards in this feckless administration and deal with the realities of the man. Kelly was an authoritarian merchant of fear whose policy prescriptions revolved around using the government to monitor and control the behavior of the populace, citizens and immigrants alike. While their demeanors may differ, his exit is not a result of any genuine political disagreements with Trump. Much like former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Kelly and Trump clashed over means, not ends. Anybody who loves liberty should be glad to see Kelly go, irrespective of who may replace him.

Before Kelly was elevated as chief of staff, he was installed as Trump's head of the Department of Homeland Security. In that role, he told Americans we should all thank our lucky stars for poorly trained Transportation Security Administration employees and their crotch-fondling ways. In an April 2017 speech, he told legislator critics of TSA behavior to either change the law or "shut up and support the men and women on the front lines." He was more than happy to scare Americans with fears of terrorists coming to kill us all to justify government intrusions into our privacy.

...

Kelly's a massive drug warrior, again using fear (this time, of opioid overdoses and drug lords) to try to sell us all on massive, expensive, and ultimately fruitless drug interdiction efforts. As a military man, he tended to see the drug war as something that just needed more troops. Reason's Jacob Sullum noted back in 2016 that "Kelly thinks a determined government can overcome economics." He simply believes that more money and more drug seizures would win the drug war, despite everything we've learned about that approach after four decades and a trillion dollars in spending.

With apologies for another outburst of Koch-$pon$ored TeamR propaganda, of course.
