Why should he throw a party for those who have made it clear they hate him?

Let them buy their own booze and food

To prove he's not the cowardly little pussy everyone knows him to be. Oh well.

Trump just can not take criticism in any form, even implied. He's such a loser.

Why should either side continue a Charade?   He should throw a party,  so they can run headllines attacking how his wife decorated the WH?

Seems that it would be a badge of honor not to go if invited.  Besides the WH Xmas decor is ugly and the food is probably bad.  No top shelf booze either.

Surprised Trump didn't move it to one of his properties and then charge the government full catering prices.

It's right after the part about how "The Press is the enemy of the people"

Is it in the same part that clearly states it is your right to own a gun only if you are a member of a well organised militia?

Of course not. Where the fuck are you going to hold a party for everyone in the US with an IQ greater than that of a 3 minute egg?

The press is expecting so much from Trump. They expect him to always tell the truth, be nice and buy them free food and drinks at Christmas. Maybe the press could throw a holiday party for the President?

Seems like a good way to toss out an olive branch, mingle and chat and wish each other a Happy Holiday.

But that is a sign of weakness to the weak.

Besides telling the truth, the press, like the American people, should expect the President to honor the office held and act in the best interests of the country.

Apparently, those are unreasonable expectations.

Gee, one would have thought that Donald Trump learned a few things in his long life. One, don't piss off the press, they will return the favor. Two, don't piss off law enforcement, they will return the favor.

Maybe he can think about in jail.

At what point was President Trump NOT "ill mannered and disrespectful to the office"?

The press is, by it's very nature, adversarial.  They should challenge.  President Trump is a baby, who can't take any questioning of his "authoritah".

The press has NEVER been adversarial or challenging during ANY Dem White House in the past 50 years....they ignored Clinton's transgressions and fawned over Obama...

Wrongo - they have been like that because they have respect for the office - just not the current officeholder who deserves only contempt for the way he has debased the office.

If Barack HUSSEIN Obama had done this, the right would label it a "War on Christmas".

But, when President Trump throws a tantrum, it's Precedential.

From the article:

Quote

It also saw CNN boycott the event, “in light of the president’s continued attacks on freedom of the press”.

There they go again. How does a corporation boycott something? Seems like something a person would do.

But then, CNN did hire some jackass who filed a lawsuit against Trump saying they've got corporate first amendment rights.

Apparently, no one told him those are just for people.

Bullshit.

I will concede the media, like society, has become less polite.  There was a time in which dalliances were quietly ignored.

A competitive 24/7 news cycle has ramped up the pressure to produce something to capture eyeballs and generate clicks.

But, just because outlets like Fox, Breitbart, Drudge, Infowars, the entire AM talk radio dial, etc. agree with your view doesn't negate the fact that they were in attack-dog mode regarding Democrats.

Yes, and Sol once educated me on how they can assert first amendment rights due to that association.

But once it has a corporate charter, a corporation can also assert its first amendment rights on its own behalf.

NAACP v Button

Quote

We think petitioner may assert this right on its own behalf, because, though a corporation, it is directly engaged in those activities, claimed to be constitutionally protected, which the statute would curtail.

I hadn't noticed it before, but awareness is increasing. How do they know the NAACP identifies as an "it?" The corporation might identify as male, female, or one of the new ones I haven't learned yet.

If people have a first amendment right to speak and assemble, why is it shocking that a group of assembled people would somehow have them?

It wasn't. In 1963, when the corporation in question was NAACP Inc.

That didn't become shocking until early 2010, when the corporation in question was Citizens United Inc.
