I have been cut off!   I thought the local bars were the only ones allowed to do that.

"Cover of the Rolling Stone" was one of my faves when I was a lad, & now I like industrial, trance/electronica & anime soundtracks, how fucking weird is that!?

Saw them at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, 1972.  They were 3rd behind Flash and Foghat and before the Kinks.  When they played Sylvia's Mother, they got booed off the stage.

Fun Fact of the Day - Most of the songs of theirs you know were written by Shel Silverstein.  Yes, that Shel Silverstein.

Shel was a man of varied talents and a wide swarth Of friendships. from kids poems to playboy essays.  from Dr Hook to Johnny Cash

RIP, Ray and thanks for the memories.

ANCHORED

by Shel Silverstein

Our anchor's too big for our ship,

So we're sittin' here tryin' to think.

If we leave it behind we'll be lost.

If we haul it on board, we will sink.

If we sit and keep talkin' about it,

It will soon be too late for our trip.

It sure can be rough on a sailor

When the anchor's too big for the ship.

Yeah,  big ortho injuries are always pretty startling. I’ve scratched my head more than once and wondered “how the hell are we gonna splint that?!” Had a local gang run into a Samoan church picnic in a local park. They knocked down one of the matriarchs, copped an attitude and a fight ensued. When we arrived to care for the “injured”, we found one of the gang bangers stuffed into a trash can bent in half........the wrong way. That was a “how to manage this” head scratcher.........he didn’t do well.

The Somoans I’ve met are really gentle folk but I would not want to get them annoyed.

Well, it appears they know how to take out the trash.
