the return of lia

Recommended Posts

lovely-lia-1024x768.jpg

I have known Lia Ditton for 14 years, during which time we followed her offshore sailing efforts, often wrote for SA, and she even raced with me on the Original Anarchy!

How cool is it then to know that Lia is going to race with us on A4 this weekend in dago! Super excited to see her again and I hope I don't suck too much while racing...!

Since most of Lia's photos are of her rowing, I grabbed this sailing shot from of a nubile Lia at the helm of an Antrim trimaran from FitWild.

JFC, I was right on with my sarcastic predictions, from the other lunatics thread:

And a first time in years, that may have to do with getting over Scot, and now cuddling up to him again, who knows?

But serioisly Scot, you started an earlier thread that on a very personal level has become a complete train wreck. And now you start another one, in complete ignorance.

Unless you are in dire need of more clicks, I would recommend you now delete this thread before it is too late. We do sympathise with your personal trauma, but this is not the way to get over it.

Before you "fall" of the dock again, I would strongly recommend you get some professional help, do it, both of you !

PS, are Clean and Jenny crewing for you two ?

Any bets on the Lia sock being owned by somebody else now?

Yes, that has come up in my deep thoughts too. Let's say jointly owned by the happy couple.

And now I need my noon shot, quickly.

Maybe you can confirm is the real Lia posting in the other thread. This is getting weird.

This whole saga went off the deep end a while ago.

The sensible thing to do would be shut down these two threads. There's sensible, and actually doing it though.

LOL, I would be most honoured if that was true, but I know what you mean. Spent some time racing at the SDYC and drinking at Fiddler's, and am aware of his reputation.

And quite honestly, I did not write that out of compassion with Scot's wellbeing, but merely as a warning shot across his bow. Fuck, I love this (his) place though.

And, why don't you try a lunch cut instead, Lia likes nutty photographers!

If you want to read about last weekend's race, it's on Scot's FB timeline, pictures and all.

I remember when the gossip here used to be entertaining. Now it reads like pathetic cries for acceptance. Show some creative writing skill or STFU.

I'd feel a bit weird following Scooter on FB to get info relating to this thread. That's icky.

Are all old threads closed? Or just hers?

Can't search onsite, but google pulls up threads years ago where controversy resulted.

Only 'cause you're Will's dad...

I paraphrase because I'm too lazy to go back and dig it up from the Black Hole FILO filing system which is what FB uses.

They raced his latest "Anarchy", a faired and clean FT-10 with North Sails, in San Diego. Lia Ditton was on the crew. They did OK on some races and not so good on other races. His ex Mary was on another boat and would not make eye-contact with our psycho editor so he went down below and pouted. I think that's pretty much the long and short of it.

I might also have made fun of his man-crush on Baker Mayfield.

Check this gal

A 54-year-old paddled 3,500 miles around both Islands of New Zealand in 432 days.

On New Years eve, Kiwi sea kayaker Lynn "Red" Paterson paddled into Auckland, NZ, completing an epic personal challenge that took her over a year to achieve: The 54-year-old had paddled around New Zealand's North and South islands, a distance of some 3,500 miles.

Bet that is tough on your butt!

Hats off to Red for raising money for a damn important cause, one that affects almost all of us either directly or indirectly.

"Help this cause" is so much more attractive than "Help my cause, which is all about me attempting to be in the Guinness Book"

Quote

A former Royal Marine who lost his leg in an accident has completed the fastest unsupported solo row across the Atlantic.

Lee Spencer finished the crossing from mainland Europe to South America in 60 days, breaking the able-bodied record for the route by 36 days.

Mr Spencer, 49, from Horrabridge, Devon, said he wanted to prove "no-one should be defined by disability".

He became the first disabled person to row from continent to continent.

Mr Spencer, who served in the armed forces for 24 years, plotted his epic journey to raise money for the Royal Marines Charity and the Endeavour Fund.
