From the DP Facebook Page...

AKA BLITZ, Peterson Quarter Tonner, Design #39

Dave Ullman's little daggerboarder, sitting unfinished at ABYC. Circa early 1977.

Looking forward to seeing it all cherry!

Restoring cool stuff, like Blitz, can be fun ... and expensive! But what else, besides a boat, is worth spending all that money?

Hint: Don't let your retirement advisor know what you are doing ...

You mentioned the original daggerboard. Are you going keel or original?

Bulbs are only a good idea if draft is limited. Why would your draft be limited?

Huh? I don't understand...

If the draft where unlimited, you wouldn't have a bulb?

Correct. Bulb is all drag, foil can also generate lift.

You want the greatest span you can: increasing aspect ratio, especially for keels, is a very good thing.

So, a high aspect lead filled foil?

I think you would have to consider the tradeoff between lowering the center of lateral resistance, which increases heeling moment, and the amount of righting moment you add with the deeper lead.

Agree. There's a reason most modern race boats have bulb keels.
