Osmosis - Archambault A40rc

Recommended Posts

Anyone come across an Archambault A40rc with osmosis problems? Is it a common problem for Archambaults?

Is osmosis a widespread problem for production boats built between 2005-2015?

Many thanks for all advice

Good to know!

Problem with Archambaults, or same for all production boats made in the past 20 years?

No. Since 90's no-one is using ortho polyester in the outer layer and almost all boats have epoxy primer on top of gelcoat. Plenty of 70's and 80's (and early 90's?) boats were built only using ortho polyester and epoxy primer was not used. Many had spray lay-up hulls. All making them much more prone to osmosis.
