Over the weekend of the 27th and 28th of July 2019, the Humpybong Yacht Club will host the fourth annual WinterBash regatta for yachts, multihulls, trailer sailers, off-the-beach dinghies and catamarans. Humpybong Yacht Club is a family focused sailing club and we actively encourage competitors of all experience levels to take part. We have advice from a full range for boats from trimarans down to lasers that they will be coming; from Bundaberg in the north to Murwillumbah in the south. We are expecting a big fleet.

The first day is an all in one course series of triangular races in Bramble Bay, It is followed by the WinterBash marathon on Day Two. The marathon race will see boats race across the Bramble Bay and back up the Redcliffe peninsula before returning to finsh at the Woody Point Jetty.

Juniors will a multi race format Day One and two endurance courses on Day Two.

Parent permission forms for all under 18 years old will be required.

If you are not racing and would like a day on the water with the fleets or know someone that would; please call Peter Bradbury on 0412 695 146

As with all major events at Humpybong, overnight camping will be available to competitors and their families and the canteen will be open for the duration of the event. Alternatively, look for other accommodation options here.

Humpybong Yacht Club

18 hrs ·

Less than 10 days to go and the forecast is looking great for
WinterBash IV on 27-28 July.

This is real sailing - take on the sea and the weather in a true test of your seamanship. You are competing against the other competitors but you are also testing out your own skills.

Day One, the Three Can Bash sets you the challenge of sailing a course without it being set up to suit the winds - you sail the course as is - tides, seas and wind are your challenge.

Day two is the real test - Woody Point to Shorncliffe, back up past Redcliffe and return to Woody Point . Depending on the class and the wind we will tailor ithe course for a real competition. The winds are looking good for really enjoyable reaches at this time of year. The seas should not be up too high so it will be a really enjoyable day.

All classes are welcome with two divisions of OTB cats and dinghies and a division for the trailer sailers.

For the juniors we have a special program in the bay with some special events. Come and score extra points for conforming to Rule 1 - Have fun.. Day one will be completely different to any other regattas and day two will be all about endurance.

After the day is over sit back over a cool drink in a casual friendly environment give all excuses and tell the the lies - at HYC we don't mind - the bigger the story the better it is received. Let us know if yo9u want to camp - the activities go on well into the night.

Save yourself ten bucks - early registrations are looking good so check in here http://www.hyc.net.au/events/26660/ to see who else is going. You can register at the same time.
The NOR is at the same location

What trailer sailors are attending? Any multihulls?

I’ll do it if you do it.

BTW there were no Pulses in the Multihull Solutions Phuket regatta and there are none in Phuket Race Week. I asked around and the fleet of four that were local seems to have disappeared.

Humpybong apologises for the cold showers.. there was a stuff up with the heater, although the ladies showers worked, the mens didn't, but it is being rectified and upgraded to ensure it won't happen again. Discussions are underway on a planned renovation of the ablutions areas.
