U.S. SANCTIONS HAMPER IRAN'S BATTLE TO CONTAIN CORONAVIRUS

Quote

"The U.S.' sanctions regime has severely impacted the access that Iranians have to life-saving medical supplies and will most likely hamper the Islamic Republic's ability to respond to the coronavirus efficiently," Mansoori said. "In light of discontent with the sanctions, we will likely witness a field of criticism that resembles what we have heard in the past few months."

‘Recipe for a massive viral outbreak’: Iran emerges as a worldwide threat

Quote

Now, as it struggles to contain the spread of the coronavirus, Iran is also emerging as the second focal point after China for the spread of the disease. Cases in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates — even one in Canada — have all been traced to Iran, sending tremors of fear rippling out from Kabul to Beirut.

That's simply mischievous.

True or untrue..It's hardly going to encourage the sick to come out for treatment.

Even Kims not that stupid.

Virus outbreak in Iran sickens hundreds, including leaders

The outbreak of the new virus in Iran has been dramatic — the head of Iran’s task force to stop the illness, known as COVID-19, was seen coughing, sweating and wheezing across televised interviews before acknowledging he was infected. Then, days later, a visibly pale official sat only meters (feet) away from President Hassan Rouhani and other top leaders before she too reportedly came down with the virus.

But questions still remain over Iran’s count. Experts, including at the World Health Organization, worry the Islamic Republic may be underreporting the number of cases in the country.

Iran denied for days that the virus was in the country acknowledging it just as it was trying to pump up enthusiasm for the country’s parliamentary election — a vote that saw the lowest voter turnout since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

By doing so, Iran likely allowed the virus to spread rapidly, reaching even into the upper echelons of its power structure as it sickened four lawmakers, top clerics and other officials.

Some Iranian clerics also have offered advice with no basis in science, like Sheikh Abbas Tabrizian in Qom who told followers to give themselves a suppository of essential oils to ward off the virus.

Nice of the religious nutjobs to suggest a suppository of essential oils could ward of this virus, what would you expect from the Mad Mullahs?

Amusing how some blame the Orange man for causing this virus problem in Iran, the Supreme leader will probably blame the Jews from Israel.

Be nice if Khamenei got this virus it will be a while before prostate cancer kills him

When a leader lies to his people, people mistrust him when things go wrong.  Of course they can always blame Trump and his sanctions.

Of course.    Since a large percent of Americans believe Trump is more honest then Jesus I saw no point in listing him.    Republicans  wouldn’t listen anyway,    A few might reach that conclusion on their own.

Iran exports medicine to 30 countries

  1.
June 19, 2019 - 12:25
TEHRAN- Iranian medicines are exported to 30 countries, announced the acting director of Food and Drug Administration.

Mohammadreza Shanesaz said a special department for “national production” might be opened in Food and Drug Administration to further support the domestic production of medicines, ISNA reported on Monday.

“The necessary paperwork for establishing this department is being prepared. Anyway, we have to expand our support for local producers and knowledge-based companies to smooth out this process,” Shanesaz remarked.

According to Shanesaz, Currently, 120 factories in the country produce medicine and 70 factories produce raw pharmaceutical materials. There are also 56 distributing companies and 12,000 pharmacies all around the country.

ISTANBUL — Iran’s Health Ministry said Saturday that 139 people had died of coronavirus-related symptoms since Friday and that officials had recorded 3,076 new infections, as President Hassan Rouhani said the government was considering harsher measures against infected people who refused to self-quarantine.

Such people were “accomplices” to the virus, he said during a televised speech, adding that some of Iran’s provinces were still reporting “upward trends” in infections and fatalities.

Iran has been among the worst-hit countries in the world during the pandemic, with more than 35,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and 2,517 deaths, according to the latest Health Ministry figures. The high rate of infection has unnerved Iran’s neighbors and forced Tehran to take extraordinary measures — including furloughing prisoners — to stem the outbreak.
