Forespar Leisure boom furler

Recommended Posts

I am getting quotes for the subject boom furler for a 38 foot sailboat, P about 43' and E about 14'.  Price would include painting the boom white, and of course the installation.

I would appreciate any feedback on SA members who have recently installed one of this furlers.  Thank you.

Had one for many years on my previous 44' boat. Worked great, key to hassle-free furling is to ensure the boom is perfectly adjusted (level).

Those numbers get you pretty close to the larger model, a Morris 36 uses the coastal model but it cheats a bit.

@Fleetwood has it with the boom angle the key factor in operation/enjoyment.

as long as the folks installing it have done it before things go quickly enough. Biggest issue is leading lines aft if there isn’t enough hardware already and the electric winches. An electric winch isn’t necessary but it helps more than you realize

Thank you guys for the feedback, what I was not clear about was costs for the boom and installation that I need.

As in you are unsure the quotes you’re getting are reasonable?

Unless things have changed, Leisurefurl was always a very costly option.
