What the fuck are you talking about.  Are you asking about sending African Americans to Africa or giving them back pay?

I think BravoBravo should feel free to dig up as many slaves as he can find and haul them back to Africa.

Which is exactly why reparations is ridiculous

BB, at times I wonder if you can be as dumb as you appear. At other times, like this, I know you can be. Are you allowed access to sharp objects?

Don't disturb him, he is onto something. I think I saw him last night getting a head start on his project.

Good morning fruitcake.  In case you were wondering what the joke is here - the word reparation (making whole, usually through financial means) is not the same as repatriation (returning them to their country of birth or citizenship).  The fact that you apparently are using the two interchangably is troubling.

So, let us know once you figure out what the hell you really want to talk about.

Sorry the brits enslaved your ancestors.  Here, we'll make it good by giving you an airplane ticket.

They are two entirely different things, and I'm not surprised you don't realize that.

It is a little wrong to say Deadpool is a superhero.  It's very wrong to say Deadpool is a suspension bridge.   You're very wrong.

The first four letters of both words are the same and both words have a lot of the same letters. Neither word has helpful letters like K, Q, or X. What is a fellow supposed to do?

Get literate?

And that word does not mean whether your parents were married before you were born.

Ok then, we'll give the descendants of slaves the promised 40 acres and a mule.

The 40 acres will be recovered from white African farmers in South Africa and Zimbabwe and we will ship the mules over.

How about recovering the 40 acres from white billionaires in the USA?

Yes , as long is the money is put into medical , food , education , and jobs to bring people up to the same standard of living , Just giving money to people never works , case in point look at Trump he was a millionaire at 8 and has no respect for anyone.

also another point , pay college ball players a salary , The NCAA is modern day slavery,

Immediately after the Civil War there was talk of confiscating plantation land in the South, and using

it to partially compensate former slaves for centuries of unpaid labor. But all that talk died out as

Andrew Johnson helped the South to re-establish white supremacy, substantially through terror. Johnson had help of course.

The only reparations for slavery in the US of which I am aware, were the compensation paid to former SLAVE OWNERS in DC

for the loss of their property.

Am I in favor of reparations for slavery?  Absolutely.

And how about compensation for a further century of Jim Crow in which African-Americans were systematically excluded from

almost all decent jobs?

At the rate we are giving it away, $14 billion sounds small.

A cheaper solution would be to disempower lobbyists, repeal CU, institute electoral reform and stop gerrymandering.

Once the GOP has to attract the votes of minorities and otherwise more closely represent the people who vote for them, and not just the people they choose to represent, the country will get back on track.

It won’t solve anything,      Free money for anybody who DNA tests some black, The amount based on percent?   What if they immigrated after slavery or were free blacks?    Do we add a special white person tax to pay for it?    Should people who’s ancestors weren’t even in America have to pay taxes to support it?    What if your ancestors fucked their slaves?    Do you  pay and also receive money?

Yes, a big nasty problem. Probably impossible to sort out. But it turns out the opposite is quite simple: Find the racists. Re-education, work camps, penalties, wealth taxes. Start the purge at the top, like in congress, not in the opioid and gun suburbs.

There's something to what ya just said.  I suspect that many of the comments that are attributed to hateful prejudice could be better described as a fear of losing access to jobs/economic stability due to governmental preference established for a group that's "not me".

If everyone's doing well?  There's a lot less reason for anyone to be frightened of losing what they've scraped to achieve, and less reason to be looking at why/who they're afraid of.

This tribalism is ingrained in the American experience. You show up from the old country and you are at the bottom of the pile, so you move to your ethnic enclave and you all fight hard for your share. Plenty of my elderly inlaws see everything as a zero-sum game. Anything the Blacks/Greeks/Italians/Whatever get is something we AREN'T getting.

We are indeed tribal, it is built into all of us. It is an old survival mechanism evolved over millennia. Whether it be sports, religion, region, sex, politics, race etc. it is the human condition to look out for each other vs outsiders. To exempt one demographic or or pronounce all members of another guilty of the tribalism flavor of the day is the ultimate act of prejudice, bigotry and possibly racism.

All lives matter and if you imagine that to be racist you need to look closely in the mirror.

Been happening ever since Reagan convinced the right people that the Republican "Trickle Up" theory just needed a little word-smithing in order to sell it.

Up is Down

Freedom is Slavery

War is Peace

Black sure ain't White.

To say, and mean, you care about all lives is racist?

I am speaking for myself, not quoting any targets of your venom.

You are a dishonest bigot. You regularly brand great swaths of people you disagree with as haters with your intolerance.

Again  "All lives matter and if you imagine that to be racist you need to look closely in the mirror."

Yes, yes, dear reader. You are correct but unenlightened. Now might be a good time to learn about more critical thinking. It is not the simple words of these things. The meaning is separate from the mundane words. In the real world, as irrational as it may seem to a literalist thinker, criticism of #BlackLivesMatter or promotion of #AllLivesMatter is defiantly seen as racist. It is racist. Personally I find it disgusting. That is the reality. Argue it however you like but realize that your side of this argument is already occupied by the most racist factions.

National Socialist German Workers' Party sounds harmless. Nothing twisted there. And take your children to the Crystal Night event. Sounds inspiring. Words matter. Choosing words carefully can make a difference.

So we have no doubt. Please clarify. Are you a racist? Are you defending racism?

Absolutely.  Anyone that was enslaved by another human being absolutely deserves reparations from that person.

After my wife got hit by a shopping cart dropped by some teens 9 years ago, it got a lot of press.  There were some web sites which were premised on the need for “white” reparations.  If I were to repeat what was said, I would not be believed. It was deeply upsetting, unwarranted and immoral.

There are many who want justice and there are a few who want anarchy as a path to power.

My parents fled Cuba. We left Jamaica after Michael Manley was elected and came back to the USA (1972, I was ten).

We have created a society where Celebrities are admired and envied for extravagant lifestyle and boasting while philanthropy, charity and volunteerism are hardly acknowledged.

Shame on us for not setting higher standards and not foreseeing that obsession with display is a path to failure.

We should all strive to give back and share (it has always been a focus for my family) but there can be no excuse or rationalization that this lawlessness is moral or democratic.   We are at risk of loosing the rule of law.  I am deeply frightened.

When I joined a club in NY years ago, I asked a trustee about diversity.  He said, : “We have a set of rules here that we all endorse, enjoy and want to remain in place.  We welcome anyone who likes the rules and is not joining with an intent to change the rules”. I feel that applies to citizenship.  If you like the rules, abide by them.  If you don’t, then work to have the laws changed or move to another country.

I have a Jamaican and an American passport and am glad to have a choice in the future.  Never ever thought I’d say that.

I am also deeply grateful to have a boat to escape on if the zombie apocalypse becomes reality.  Hope that does not happen but Thomas Hobbes may have been right.
