SASSAFRASS 543 #1 Posted August 21, 2020 If anyone is planning on heading that way, CR is opening to pleasure vessels Sept 1st. Need a neg PCR or to come from a cleared port or quarentine. They will count transit days towards quarentine. Not alot of info but the official Tourism site added this so good news. Pretty sure travelers insurance will be required same as if you fly in. They have several domestic options listed on the website.
toddster 459 #2 Posted August 21, 2020 Odd... Costa Rica daily case rate not looking too good ATM... Hopefully past the peak by September, but who knows?
Training Wheels 64 #3 Posted August 22, 2020 With the case rate going up, what’s a few more?
SASSAFRASS 543 #4 Posted August 22, 2020 They had a genuine second wave, mostly through undocumented travel for AG work from Nicaragua. July till now is the window for the second round of cases.
SASSAFRASS 543 #5 Posted August 22, 2020 It should be noted Panama has bumped there date yet again so wouldn't be surprised if CR tightens up, however the two week quarentine for pleasure boats is certainly the most safe entry of tourists for any place. Kinda hard to fudge things. Counting transit days is pretty nice, it would have cut a week off our time in Panama. Reading the travel blog for CR there is alot of tension for the gov to speed up a restart, like most places. It's very quiet on Bocas.
