PA is pretty nice most of the year. Winter it can get icy, and kind of dismal.

As a native Pennsylvanian I take umbrage at this thread.

OK, winter lasted 6 months and summer lasted 2 months, and the other 4 months were just rainy, shitty weather where I lived on the Lake Erie shoreline.  But other than that those 4 perfect days were quite lovely.

Hey, if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger, right?

It’s a great place to visit and exchange ideas.  Most of the people there are big fans of the lovable raccoon.

You should drop by.

My grandfather taught me, as I was rolling on the ground at age 13 holding my bruised nuts, and gasping for air, due to a kickback from a giant bucksaw attached to his tractor... "Remember, that which does not kill you does not make you stronger, it just didn't kill you.".

I dunno about that - gotta be pretty stupid to do what he's doing.

Looks cute and fun but the reality is If he's lucky he won't get ripped open or catch rabies.

Yeah. Before the election it was more venomous than since.  They’re a bit lost as to what to glom onto.

I'd almost forgotten scrapple, apple butter, lebanon bologna, and TastyCakes cakes and pies! Actually I think Entenmann's is from PA too.

PA also used to have a whole bunch of fair regional breweries back when most stores only stocked the big nationals. Schmidt's of Phila, Rolling Rock, Yuengling's, Koehler's and to my eternal embarassment in high school, my Dad's old favorite... Horlacher's.

Pennsylvania also had the first public library and is home to the best location for stargazing east of the Mississippi. We also have an abundance of very large bears although I am starting to think that may be a negative.

There are growing reports of them however I believe the DNCR still denies they are here. I can believe it but also think most of the sightings are just really big bobcats. I had a bobcat in the yard here that looked to be 50-60lbs. Our black bears are some of the biggest in the world, why not bobcats too.  It would be easy to mistake a 60lb bobcat for a cougar particularly if you do not see a lot of cougars.

The tale is the tail. The cougar has a looooong one. I saw one crossing the road in the Northwoods in WI. Called rangers who agreed, mentioning other reports in the area.

Yeah but then there's also Keystone Beer.

And if that's not bad enough, there's Keystone Lite
