      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

AC 1980's Style

Recommended Posts

Newport for the AC in 1980 our Corporation did the whole enchalada.

We chartered the replica "America" and a 95 foot Burgher, and moored our fleet alongside at Goat Island.

A privelige flag for the 25 knot Burgher got us inside the racing triangle and there was always big demand for rides on the power boat.

The overflow had to put up with a more stately long distance view provided by the schooner.

As the corporate aussie who happened to be seriously smote by boat, I got to party quite a bit afloat and ashore.

Prominent guests and lots of expat Austruckinfalians made for a memorable series in which unfortunately Australia 1 got their bottoms smacked by Tv Ted and the Freedom Machine but so did the Poms, the Swedes and The French. The Baron even managed to get lost in the RI fog a couple of times.

Among the many was one Paul Rigby. Paul had a globally insightful eye and a skill with pen and ink unmatched by any. Paul was able to bring to all his work that eloquent Australian disrespect that saw him win multiple internatiobnal awards for his craft.

During that summer in 1980 Paul was employed by New York Newspapers and syndicated to dozens more around the world and over a couple of hundred "Bushmills" sitting in Christies he produced what for me is the Totem of the Americas Cup inj the 80's

Paul Rigby sadly left the boat in November last year at age 83 but his marks will long prevail.

The attched image is the first of 8 segmnents of his "Christies AC 1980 Piece" that will be posted here over the coming weeks to remind all anarchists what the AC was 25 years ago.
