Everyone has said it, but what the hell. It is obviously a mold for a large hull, judging by the shape of the bow and the narrow-ness I would say a big cat. If Steve Fosset was still around I would say it could be his......but seeing as how he is not and how the Oracle boys have a hard-on for milti-hulls now I would say a mold for something Larry Ellison plans to roll over the rest of the sailing world with.

Is it the mold for some type of skiff hull?? I know it's nothing bigger... have a look at the timber on top of the mould...This is not a big mould!

Half a mould for a big mono (say 115´) lofted from drawings borrowed from Mr. Swarbricks drawing board.

Construction in the U.S, China or other developing country, where copyrights don´t hinder progress.

Think I'm gonna go with the BP V route... deffo a half-hull mould, and given the narrowness of the transon section, gotta be a multi. I gueess this is the centre hull, given the shape of the transom. There also looks like there is another mould (though not sure thats a hull) in the reflection....

http://www.voile.banquepopulaire.fr/

(in the video on the front page, about halfway through, shows the bare carbon centre hull)

Shame about the repair to the mould up forward...

it's oa mold ...

not of a float for sure because it's too large .

not of a monohull because of the shape at the bottom.

so it's a centre hull of a Maxi Trimaran.

it could be: Sodebo, MBPV, GMA3, IDEC2, but it can't be OBR...

My guess : the female mold of MBPV (maxi banque populaire V) centrale hull

I suspect that since no one has come up with the answer this must have nothing to do with sailing so i guess to MUST be a mold for a vane of a wind generator????

Iv got it, its slightly too curved at the transom to be groupamas, and the bow is too blunt to be Idec or any of the singlehanded maxi tris.

Its the new port half main hull mould for the new one design 70ft tri which has taken over from the open 60 tris!

If it's a female mold, would it really be for a one-off boat?

Production boat -- I like the Gunboat suggestion.

What is the other part you can see reflected in the bow? Looks like a deck mould on its side but that seems an odd way to store a deck mould?

This is from a backlot in Hollywood, There was an alternate ending planned for the Wizard oif Oz where a tidal

wave was going to wipe out the Emerald city as Dorthy flew off in the balloon but the idea was later scraped, they did

not document this after realizing that the floating munchkin corpses was too graphic for the time. This is the only remaining

proof that the idea ever existed. It was later sold to Catana to use as a mold for a very large catamaran.

Only a newbie,

But I'd be sure it's not the Speedboat mould. Not nearly beamy enough, and no big arse chine to see.

Overall, looks to narrow for a monohull of that sort of length I would think.

I'd say it's one half of the mould, for the central hull of Banque Populaire......
