Got Pole?

This action shot is from the last heat of the Etchells Midwinters in Moolooaba, Queensland Thanks to Deborah Lloyd Photography! Should we have a little caption contest? What the hell - gear from our friends at SailFast for the best three entries. Have fun!

Do you have trouble getting it up like this gentleman? If so, carbon rods may be just the thing for you!

When the mark is coming up quickly and you have to get it up, try carbon. For moderate to immediate spinnaker pole disfunction. Those with shallow pockets or certain one design classes should not take carbon as this could lead to an unnecessary rise in blood pressure. If you experience a spinnaker set lasting more than four hours you should contact a race official immediately as this could be a sign of serious leeward mark problems or dangerously low pressure over your shoulder.

That pole was built for jybing around corners.
