Good job Clean, I thought you were going to give some swag away today? WTF, you give all those PLO hats to the strippers last night?

Just a reminder Point Loma Outfitting is offering a 20% discount on everything, just just code OTWA9 when checking out.

Thanks to those that have already taken advantage of this offer.

Yes. And earlier in this thread - there are good pics of those 2.

I understand that there is a "We're not in KW" Party at the Boatyard tonight.

You'll have something else to Toast.

Rooting for Bruce in PHRF 4.... NOW, he's 4 behind fellow Annapolis boat, Tangent.

Cheers!

Clean and Mer,

Thanks for the coverage. A great way to clear the winter doldrums.

Are the raw times available anywhere. Not seeing them on the Premiere site.

Just interested how the Tiger is doing boat for boat in their group, handicap be damned.

Wow. I may have to swing by there after putting the kids to bed. I haven't been to the Boatyard since early in the AYC WNR series... Go Bruce! (Almost forgot how the engine was pulled out of his boat at Bobby's awhile back!)

I thought the 'boatyard' party was friday night?

??? I've gotten e-mails and calls trying to drag my butt down tonight.

Hey, worse thing is you drink with sailors for 2 nights.... we're still way behind all of the folks drinking in the tent.

yea... I'm wishing him a good KW this year.

It was a bummer that he lost the rig early in the week last year... but, he & the crew stayed around and partied all week.

Breeze is 6-9, lots of leftover chop, sunny weather and better temps, and we're stoked for a sweet-ass day. Thanks for tuning in!

Quantum Sails wants to congratulate Terry Hutchinson and Marty Kullman on their great victories this fall, both with full Q inventories.

And we want to let you know that sure, they have great technology, product, and success, but most importantly - they have knowledgeable, great people willing to help sailors of all shapes and sizes get the most out of their sailing experience (whatever they want that “most” to be)!

Make sure to check out the new Fusion M technology, translating TP52 success into victories for your Grand Prix, OD, IRC or PHRF Fleet.

They are truly enthusiastic about being part of SA and OTW Anarchy, and they understand that what we do helps get people stoked about the sport - so we support them and hope you will too.

....And more from our sponsor. From thier e-newsletter:

Quantum Sails and Terry Hutchinson Collaborate

(Traverse City, MI - 20th January)

Terry Hutchinson and the Quantum Sail Design Group have agreed on a partnership, bringing Terry into the company in a role that is focused on product development and customer awareness. He will work directly with Quantum designers on developing sails and technology, and he will use Quantum sails exclusively on all his racing programs. Along with his other professional racing commitments in 2009, Terry will be helming the TP52 Quantum Racing in the 2009 Medcup, and campaigning Barking Mad in the European Farr 40 Circuit with Quantum sails.

Ed Reynolds, President of Quantum Sails, and Terry Hutchinson explain.

"It's going to be a challenge," said Terry. "This is a great opportunity for me and the customers I race with. Quantum has the most aggressive technology and product development program in the industry. It's hard to ignore the results that Quantum customers are achieving at every level of the sport. I have been involved with a number of sailing programs with Quantum over the years, and all of them were fun and successful. As anyone that has ever sailed with me will tell you, I have high expectations of myself and everyone around me, these guys have delivered every time. Working on the Quantum Racing program gave me and the pro sailors on our team an inside look at the passion and commitment this company has to become the best sailmaker in the world. It seems like everyone I worked with at Quantum, from top to bottom, has the same passion and demand for perfection that I try to bring to my sailing. It feels like a perfect fit. I am excited to be a part of this, and can't wait to start working."

Notes Quantum president Ed Reynolds, "While we look forward to the heightened awareness of our successes that Terry will bring, he is being tasked with three important missions. First is the continual development of the products and services that top sailors demand from their sailmaker. Second, Terry will be the first to admit that a large measure of his success comes from the core group of sailors around him. He will be Quantum's liaison to professional sailors; responsible for tapping into this talent pool and bringing their skills to the job of building better sails and pushing the technological edge. Third, and most importantly, he will be in charge of communicating with Quantum customers and providing access to the information gleaned from Quantum Racing, other professionals, and the teams that he works with. Unless we can transfer this information, the benefits to their performance will never be realized."

"The ultimate mission of the Quantum Racing program is to help develop better sails and techniques for Quantum customers at every level of the sport. The methodology the team used to constantly improve the performance of the boat was rigorous and straightforward. We realized that with a defined template, any sailing team could use elements of this approach to achieve better results. We intend to capture this process and use it to provide the best communication between our design team and customers."

Good boob video coming up - Val gave Stu Simpson (Barbarians) a "gift" for leading at two marks and getting a fourth - all on camera. Sit tight.

Also, interviews with Dave Armitage, Ralf Seitz, director of the MMA boat program, Jim Richardson about their 12th place and the F30 and Mumm 30 class, Amy and Sarah, two hottest goddamned girls in the M24 fleet (except for Mer, of course) on how the top teams DO party their asses off, and much more!

We are loading all those videos while Mer edits her pics and Petey rips together another sweet daily video. I'll get the vids tagged and embedded as soon as I'm done with the Clean report - and then we're getting some VIP treatment from M24 World Champs Uka Uka Racing - a real Italian dinner at their house! Tonight is going to be a good one...

Whoops,

Next time I'll check the SI's first...

17.1 With the exception of the Melges 32 and Melges 24 classes, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores without exclusion. For the Melges 32 and Melges 24 classes, a boat’s worst score will be excluded from her series score if seven or more races have been completed subject to rule 90.3(B).

Drop-outs for the melges amongus, no such luck for L'Outrage in PHRF-3. They are 4 back with 4 to play. Without a blanking of Tangent in the last four theyw ill have to hope they can win both today, and pray (or arrange) to get someone inbetween them.

???? I believe that Bruce is only a point back with 4 to go.

Simple math is difficult for some people. Wait unitl they reach 11 points and they have to use there toes to count.

as is simple grammar. sorry, couldn't resist. (their)

Hey at least I can subtract 9 from 10 and get 1...not 4. If this board had a spelling and grammar check I wouldn't make "simple" mistakes like that.

just thought it was funny/ironic that you berate someone for making a simple mistake while simultaneously making one yourself, that’s all.

1007H: It will be an interesting course setting today: PHRF-1, 2: 6 legs with a distance of 1.6mi, J80 and PHRF3: 6 legs with a distance of 1.2, and PHRF-4: 4 legs 1.2 miles. Shifts from050 to 080 - div 3

When your only 10 years old their/there can be tricky. But if I give someone 10 dollars and an items cost 9 and he gives me 4 dollars in cahnge, even I know that is wrong....but I'm not going to tell him.

YOUR?????

just goes to show that one doesn't need to spell to get ahead monetarily... some call that greed

HUGE thanks to Vegas, JITillIDie, and Jerseygirl for all the help - we look forward to seeing you in person soon. And to all of you for having so much fun with us.

I got an email with a whole pile of suggestions for OTW Anarchy - many of them really good. And we have some big changes planned as we develop the technology we need to make them, but we do NOT want to lose the feel or comfortability of the forum, or the ability for the audience to play as big a part as they want in the coverage. It's just so much more fun this way.

Another thing - to look down at that user list all day and see the names going in and out is just really cool. I've raced with so many of you, partied with so many more...and it means a shitload to me that you spend so much time watching and participating in this coverage. Sure I'm a little buzzed, but..."I love you, man!"

And now for some tits...this is what happens when you do well in the Melges 32 fleet. (watch til the end)

This is the last interview I'll post before dinner - and it's my favorite. Former Sailor Chick of the Week (and current M24 NA Champ Crew) Amy Ironmonger, along with WTF crew Sarah Curran, talking about Italian vs. American teams, being smokin' hot chicks in the Melges fleet, and how hard the top crews party. She ain't lying either - an awful lot of top crews were still drinking at the Melges Rocks party last night when we left at 12:45...

Hey to all from XS Spars and Minor Miracles Inc.

Sailing today was great, after an hour or so of testing yesterday we went for it full on today in both races. The wind gods shit squarely on us on the last downwind of race one after having surplus time all around the course, but race two worked out just fine. The rig is good as new and the boat feels great. We have recieved a lot of attention for our escepades and appreciate all the good will, wishes, and spirit from all we've encountered, even the doubters (after making them eat thir words). In addition to all the moral support, we have recieved some real support, tools, materials, equipment, and advice. Specifically we want to say thanks and we owe you one to the following:

Ed Bain,The Flash Gordon program,The Plenty program, the guys from sail22.com, the folks from Hall Spars, the folks from the A&B parking lot, the Galleon dockmaster, the folks in the peach colored RC RIB, and especially the crew from a large cruising boat who took a chance on us and let us lift the rig into place with their spin halyard - this took some real balls.

If we have overlooked anyone who helped we are truly sorry and THANK YOU! Our excuse is it's been a little hectic for us the last couple days.

Here's to you.

Team XS

Go to the "4 Key West 2009 Thursday" tab to view.

Wow. One whole picture of the Farr 30 Class. Matches up well with the one comment that I saw on your blog today about them rounding the top mark.

That's awesome.

Maybe it's because I'm a "new" mom... but... my stand hasn't changed since Newport Beach!! No person on my boat with or without a fake ID takes one lick of liquor if you are under the age of 21. I hate people who do this...

Granted, Clean is King of Kool... but...

DO NOT PUBLICALLY OFFER ALCOHOL TO A MINOR WHO HAS ADMITTED HE'S UNDER 21... DIDN'T THEY TEACH YOU THIS IN LAW SCHOOL?? YES, I KNOW, THIS FORUM HAS NO LIABILITY FOR ITS CONTENT AND THE OPINION EXPRESSED.... BLAH BLAH BLAH....

BUT... IF SO... AIM FOR CLIFF STAGG ON TANGENT -- HE'S HEAVILY INSURED AND MY HOUSE WILL BE PAID OFF AND I'LL BE ONE RICH SINGLE BITCH!!
